Chapter Six - Sick Day
Chloe's POV
I woke up late, around 10:30, freezing and feeling lightheaded. I groaned and sat up, getting a weird feeling in my stomach. I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet, cursing when I was done.
I took a hot shower and washed up, putting on some black, fold over yoga pants and a big, loose, red sweater that had 'XO' in big white lettering. I pulled my hair back in a bun and walked downstairs, finding Austin gone already again. I poured a bowl of cereal and went into the living room, turning the tv on. As soon as I sat down the doorbell rang. I groaned and walked to the door.
"Hey Chlo-, are you ok?" Wes said stepping in.
"I'm sick, can we plan the pier day for whenever I'm better?" I asked, hearing myself sounding congested.
"Of course," he said smiling.
"Thanks," I said yawning.
"Can we just hang out here today?" He asked me.
"Wes, I don't want to get you sick."
"Agh, I don't care," he said walking in. I rolled my eyes and closed the door, walking back into the living room and finding him in the couch.
"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked him.
"Sure, whatcha got?" He said crawling over to the tv by me.
"Mean Girls, Pitch Perfect, Frozen, The Hot Chick, The Lucky One, Romeo and Juliet-"
"That's all you got?" Wes said raising his eyebrows at me.
"I'm a girl, I like different movies than you do," I said putting my hands on my hips.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go rent some good movies," he said standing up.
"These are good movies!" I called after him. He laughed and the door closed behind him. I walked back over to the couch and watched Spongebob while I waited for him to come back. When he did he had 4 different movies, two bags of popcorn, cough drops and 7 Up.
"Wes!" I said shocked.
"What?" He asked playing dumb. I shook my head and he came over by me.
"So, what movie first?" He said showing me the movies he got.
"This one," I said pointing at one.
"Good pick," he said putting it in the DVD player. The credits started after he hit play and he came back per by me on the couch. He put his arm around me and I gave him a funny look.
"I told you, I don't care if I get sick," he said. I sighed and leaned into him.
I didn't make it through the second movie. There was an empty popcorn back on the floor next to the couch, a half empty popcorn bag on the table and a half drank bottle of 7Up on the table. Wes and I both fell asleep during the second movie. My back was pressed up against the back of the couch with Wes laying in front of me. Austin came home around 3:30 and started hitting his hand against the wall to wake us up.
Wes jumped and fell of the couch. I laughed before coughing and Austin have us the most creeped out look ever.
"What in the world were you doing so close to each other?" He asked.
"Uh-"
"I was freezing. I'm sick, I'm having temperature swings," I said.
"Hmm," Austin said.
"Why don't you believe me? Just look at me, I look like shit," I said waving a hand at myself.
"You're right, you do look like shit," Austin joked. Wes opened his mouth to say something but then shut it quickly.
"It's not like you look any better."
"Oh please, I'm fabulous," Austin said dramatically.
"Whatever, I'm going back to bed because if I don't I'm gonna throw up all over your face," I joked.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Wes asked me at the door.
"What if I'm still sick?"
"I told you, I don't care," he said wrapping me in a big hug.
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow," I sighed in defeat.
"Great, bye," he said waving.
"Bye," I said waving back. I walked back inside and up to my room, laying in bed and checking social media. I fell asleep quickly though an woke back up around dinner time. I went downstairs and found Austin making dinner.
"Chicken noodle soup for malady," Austin said.
"Mmm, thank you Monsieur," I said taking a bowl of soup from his hands.
"You feeling ok?" He asked me.
"Yeah, a little better," I said starting to eat my soup.
"Hey Chlo?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you like Wes?" Austin asked me. I froze and took my time to answer.
"As in like like or just like in a friend way?" I asked him.
"Uh, like like," he said awkwardly.
"No," I said calmly.
"Ok, just making sure."
I finished my soup and went back upstairs to go to sleep again. I fell asleep around 10 after reading a book.
