Wishing for Resilience

I stand up.

I fall down.

I get up and

Turn around.

I see fire.

I feel burns.

Scars will last,

I know it hurts.

No use for feeling broken.

No use for tireless dreaming.

Save action for other things

And hope the dawn brings.

Look at the sky.

We'll be alright.

The pain is real,

But wounds do heal.

It's a long, long battle

That we breathe.

The stars are shining bright,

As I hear muffled whispers through

The cracks.

I hear less as the night

Goes on.

I stand up.

I fall down.

I get up and

Turn around.

No use for feeling broken.

No use for tireless dreaming.

I will save my time for other things,

Hope dawn brings.

Look at the sky.

We'll be alright.

The pain is real,

But wounds do heal.

It's a long, long battle

That we breathe.

I know it's going to be a while,

But I'll be here for every mile.

We got to keep on running now.

The time for hope to sing is now.

Unlike anything we've seen before,

The door is open

And there's still more.

Don't worry about the images of the past,

Those people and things

Will never last.

We got something they don't know.

Your fought fire

And watched the dawn bring a new light.

Light made us burn brighter.

In the longest war,

Sunlight came.

We have sung

And we stand tall.

Proud as could be.

"Wishing for Resilience," is wishing for more patience. Patience brings a thoughtfulness to the mind that makes it more considerate. Being more considerate also allows a person to keep fighting when things are tough. Sometimes life is hard, but giving up can bring unwanted and unthinkable regrets.
