The Next Day
Dee takes a deep breath, starting down the hallway to class. She takes her time, looking for his hair, listening for his voice. As she nears her classroom, she slows down even more, turning slightly to see if he's behind her. He isn't.
She walks past it, going further down to where his class is. She peers inside, seeing a few students but not him. Okay, so he's probably over there now. Shit, he's gonna think I dipped again. She speed walks back to her classroom and looks around, hopeful that like Monday, he's coming down the hallway. But he isn't there. The warning bell rings and she sighs, going into her classroom and taking her seat.
She pays little attention in class, willing the bell to ring again the second the door closes. She uses the time to write, trying to get the words out of her mind. 'Cause I'm tired of all these daydreams, all these daydreams. She closes her eyes, letting one whisk her away, if only for a moment.

Dee stands on stage, an award in her hand as the crowd cheers for her. 'Woowwww, a hitta really made it though!' she exclaims into the mic. The crowd laughs and starts to settle down. 'Man, I gotta thank my mom, my beautiful, beautiful mother. The one who never let me feel like I was less than, who always told me I was special and believed in me from the beginning.'
She pauses, collecting herself before continuing. 'I wanna thank my team, my managers, my production crew, my talented ass friends. Y'all kept pushin' me to be better, never lettin' me settle and put up with my attitude' More laughter comes from the audience as she waits for them to stop, her final thank you the one she wants the world to hear.
'And last, but most certainly not least, I wanna thank Nova for takin' my hand and makin' me feel like a Queen every damn day. You never doubted me, you never left my side and even when I told you I was gon' win this over you, you smiled and told me I deserved it. I love you, baby.'
She blows a kiss in Nova's direction as the camera pans to him. He's cheering loudly, screaming her name. 'You better get it, babygirl!' She giggles, covering her face. 'Thank y'all so much, I could've never done it without y'all. This is for Dee Block, this is for my city!'
She holds up the award in one hand and a four in the other. The crowd cheers as she walks off, forgoing protocol and running back to Nova in the crowd. She leaps into his arms, kissing him passionately. Their foreheads instinctually come together, their voices whispers compared to the crowd. 'I love you, Nov.' 'I love you too, Diamond.'
**
Dee opens her eyes, slowly returning to reality. She looks at the clock above the board. Ten minutes left, thank god. She sighs, noticing her eyesight is blurry. She rubs her eyes and immediately regrets it. She's crying. Stupid ass daydream.

(Nova POV)
Nova waits near the entrance of the cafeteria. He shifts uncomfortably, people staring strangely as they walk by. He looks back at his friends, still not seeing Dee. Where the hell is she? He spies Key coming with Peach and motions for him to stop.
