Two Weeks Later
(Nova POV)
Nova steps out of the booth, finishing another set of adlibs. He tosses himself on the couch, lying down as he waits for Ekko to start replaying the song. As it plays he tunes out, a thought nagging him. Somethin' don't feel right. He looks around, the usual people in the studio, nothing out of place.
He shakes his head, attempting to listen to Golden. His head starts to nod to the beat but he isn't in it, the persistent thought refusing to let go. The fuck, am I forgetting somethin'? He picks up his phone, looking at his schedule for the day. There isn't anything that he hasn't done. He pulls up his messages, seeing a few from Dee. He opens them, his eyes widening.

(Dee POV)
'Yooo!' a girl says as she walks to Dee, her blonde locs swinging as she moves. Beside her, a shorter guy with locs smiles, matching the girls pleasant demeanor. Dee smiles back, briefly embracing the girl. 'Hey Beauty! Hey Asa!' She gives Asa a quick dap, moving her hair to one side. 'It's good to finally see you perform' Beauty begins. 'I was tryna hit you up when you was in Baltimore but you dipped before I could get to you.' Dee gives a small smile, looking down. 'Yeah, I uh, had some shit to take care of.'
She looks back up, expecting to see accusatory stares from them but instead she sees smiles. 'Aye, well we got time now,' Beauty says. Asa nods, adding on. 'You comin' back to the DMV anytime soon?' 'I wasn't plannin' on it but I don't mind makin' the trip, just hit me up.' Beauty laughs, 'Aight, bet.' As they say their goodbyes, Dee can feel her bad mood returning. She watches them leave, dropping her smile almost immediately.
She pulls out her phone, shading it from the sun. Checking her messages, she sees her three messages to Nova still unread.
Deetra: Juli, when you coming? I perform at 6:20
Deetra: Juliii, hurry up, I need good luck kisses
Deetra: Nigga
She grumbles to herself, stuffing her phone in her pocket and starting back to her friends. They stand around the artist area, interacting with their fans and one another. She moves through them, finding a lone chair near the back gate and sits, crossing her arms.
She watches Jae and Roscoe laugh, Peach and Key dancing together and Latto and Mani signing autographs. Stupid piece of shit. She sucks her teeth, squeezing her arms closer to her chest keep from checking her phone again. Key looks back at her, motioning for her to come to him. She looks away, not bothering to say no. She looks on stage, an unknown singer serenading the crowd with a love song. Fuck love.
She forgoes her resistance, pulling her phone from her pocket and checking her messages. There still isn't a response but the messages have gone from unread to read. She holds her breath, seeing dots appear for a moment. She tries not to smile, looking around to see if she can find him. The bubble disappears. Juli...please. It doesn't return.
She bites her cheek, returning her phone to her pocket. She looks down, her leg shaking, her mind furiously imagining scenarios of their meeting after this. Pull up if you want to, think you seen crazy already? She sees a shadow cover her and she looks up, seeing Mani. 'Aye come on, stop being so grumpy.'
