Two Days Later

(Nov POV)

'Lemme get a flow in this, roll off quick. Roll back on the beat then draw the cliff. Then jump off the beat and on to it. Now I got a lot to think before I spit,' Nova raps. The crowd is into it, their hands high as many of them rap along. When the chorus drops, their voices overpower him despite the crowd's small size.

He reaches out and touches a few girls hands, their screams getting louder. Ekko and Lexy cheer him on from the side as his set nears the end. 'I just wanna thank y'all for turnin' up with me tonight.' The crowd continues screaming, bringing a smile to his face. 'I'm comin' back to y'all, Chicago, believe that.'

A girl in the front hoots before screaming. "I love you, Nova!' He smiles, pointing directly at her. 'Love you too!' The girl screams, her friend's camera directly in her face. He nods and starts off stage, Ekko clapping his back and congratulating him. He can barely hear him over the crowd screaming for the next performer.

Lexy passes him a bottled water and he chugs, it, trying to bring his adrenaline down. He pays little attention to the rapper, despite the way the crowd yells her lyrics. He nudges Ekko, motioning for him to come closer. 'When can we leave?' 'You tryna go already?' Ekko asks, surprised. 'Nah, just wanna know when we gettin' out.'

Ekko nods, 'I'll go see, stay here.' Where the hell else I'm supposed to go? Ekko starts off searching for the promoter and he leans against the wall. The crowd's enthusiasm still hasn't faded and as the song changes, they get louder. The beat sounds familiar as she starts to rap.

'All of my niggas is casket pretty, ain't no one safe in this happy city. I hope you make it home, I hope to God that my tele' don't ring.' The crowd continues as she turns the mic to them, her smile bright. Wait..Dee be singin' this. He takes out his phone and opens SnapChat, recording part of the performance and sending to her.

He keeps recording the rest to show her later, hoping that she's able to see through the dark video. Long as she can hear it. Ekko returns, putting a hand on Nova's shoulder. 'You gotta stay 'til the end, they wanna do pictures of the performers and all that.' He nods, turning back to his phone and steadying the camera.

'She any good,' Ekko asks. He nods, 'Dee listens to her a lot. I didn't know it was her at first.' The songs ends and the artist begins speaking to the crowd. He stops the video, seeing a response from Dee. It reads: NONAME IS PERFORMING WITH YOU GTFOHSKSKSKSKSK. I'M SO JEALOUS.  Somethin' told me to go with you. He laughs, her excitement adorable. A thought crosses his mind and he nods, accepting the challenge. Anything for my babygirl.

Nova holds his young gawd pose for a few more frames before they're dismissed. He approaches Noname, nervous for an odd reason. 'Hey,' he says when she turns to him. 'Hey, Noname,' she replies, shaking his hand. 'Yeah, Nova. I wanted to tell you you did great, my gir--my friend listens to you all the time.' Slow down, Nov. 'Aaw, that's sweet. Tell her I said thanks,' she replies.

'Would you mind tellin' her yourself?' he asks. 'Oh, yeah that's fine,' she says with a smile. He opens his SnapChat and starts recording a video. 'Aye, babygirl, guess who I found?' he says. He moves the camera and Noname waves. She starts laughing as he continues. 'Told you, anything for you Diamond.'
