The next day brought on a new change of events, much to Camilla's astonishment. For it was time for the team to head abroad for a few tournaments. Craig had text her that morning, having fallen asleep early last night and forgetting to respond, explaining they'd have a lunch out when he returned. The team were expected to leave the very next morning

Storm hadn't told her yet that he had to go and her heart sunk just a little. She had shared more than needed with him, but he didn't seem to reciprocate. She still knew next to nothing about him, which was disheartening with how much time they had spent together recently.

So when he knocked on her door later that afternoon, she acted nonchalant. "Hey," she murmured and let him in, feeling the gust of air that swept behind him as he entered. He'd gone home for a change of clothes and had training that morning, so she had been left alone. It was quite comforting though, since she hadn't had any time to think to herself for a while.

"How are you feeling?" he asked and took his shoes off by the door. It was a little pet peeve of Camilla's – people walking in the house with their shoes on. Since, she had ensured that he took his off. He was carrying a long bag, which he had also put down until he straightened his back and glanced at her.

"I'm good," she commented and strode towards her sofa, where she kept a large pile of folders on the small coffee table in the middle. Since being a solicitor meant a lot of independent research, it meant doing it outside of office hours and over the last few days, she hadn't done that.

No, instead she had drunk herself into oblivion. Then poured her heart out to Storm. All of which was very unlike her – minus the drinking part; she did enjoy alcohol.

As she gathered the files to pack them away, Storm's hand touched her back gently and caught her attention. She closed her eyes for a brief second and with the folders grasped in her hands, turned towards him. "Are you really okay?"

What could she say to that? She had a feeling he would know that she was lying if she said she was perfectly fine. But when you had obstacles in life, you weren't meant to ponder on why this happened to you. Instead, you moved on with life and tried to make sure remnants of yourself didn't escape with it.

"I'm better than I was yesterday," she settled with instead. "I'll be right back."

She discarded the folders in her room and returned to the living room, settling beside Storm. Despite his concern for her and her wellbeing, there was still the nagging in the back of her mind – on the fact that he hadn't told her yet. He was leaving in a few hours, so why were his lips sealed? But she refused to be the one to ask a-

The realisation hit her abruptly. Since Jake, she had promised herself that she wouldn't ever allow herself to be treated the same way, but she had been treated that day because she allowed herself to. She didn't ever question him or simply say no. And that's what she was doing right now; remaining silent.
