Rosa and Craig had both returned to their flat that night, together.

It was such a relief to have witnessed, even if they were both subdued about it. Camilla hadn't been sure a mere ten minutes ago if they would even talk to one another, let alone leave together.

However, as Storm closed his front door and let out a sigh, Camilla realised this night wasn't about to get any better. "You've told me to be honest with you," she said after a few seconds and her words somehow enveloped all of the silence in the room, somehow enveloped all of the light from Storm's eyes and turned his expression stolid.

He crossed his arms across his chest, "I did." It was almost as though he had already predicted where this conversation was going to go.

"When Craig and Rosa were in each other's arms just there, I realised something. They've been married for years and this looks like the starting point of things being over between them. That scares the fuck out of me," she confessed, remaining in her place. Away from Storm. "If they can't manage to repair the-"

"Please don't finish that sentence," he replied calmly. "They are hurting right now, Camilla. And that's it. If they want it to work and if they recognise the warning signs, they will talk to each other and I don't know what you're getting at here..." He trailed off, allowing her to fill in the gaps.

But he did know what she meant.

They both did.

Finally, when the silence reached its peak Storm closed his eyes and reached upwards to pinch the bridge of his nose. Then he looked at her, removing his hand and allowing it to dangle. "I don't know what to do here, Camilla," he admitted softly. "You keep running. Every time I think we're going to be okay, every time we're happy you find an excuse to run back,"

He looked so defeated, so tired that he wanted to just go to sleep right there. But sleep wouldn't help when you were emotionally drained.

"I'm not running," she responded with. Except her lie sounded as weak as Storm probably felt. "I'm just scared."

"Of what, Camilla? I haven't done anything to make you doubt us, have I?"

She shook her head. "No, it's jus-"

Storm walked up to her, his hands holding her face as he bent down. "I love you. I've said it once and I'll say it another twenty times, but this will never work if you keep doing this. We can't function like this, Camilla. I can't function like this, so perhaps it's best you go and think about things before you come back here,"

Her eyes widened at his words. Storm had always been the one pushing for a relationship, encouraging her – but for him to draw back now and retreat was confusing for her. So much so that she wasn't sure what to say. "You want me to go?" she croaked the words out, because suddenly this was feeling a lot like a breakup. "Are you breaking up with me?"
