"If this is a dream, now is the perfect time to wake up" is Maymay's thought at this moment. "Open your eyes May, open your eyes" she whispers to herself. As she opens them, Edward is already standing in front of her with Toto in his arms.
"Is this real?" Maymay asks herself as she reaches for Edward's face, but before she could reach it, Toto licks her hand and that was when she realized that, in fact, the situation she is currently in is real. Edward is standing right in front of Maymay, in the flesh.
"Uhm, Hi." he flashes her his signature smile. The kind of smile that makes Maymay's heart melt all the time, and makes her forget every bad thing in the world. And at that moment, Maymay knows that she misses him because her heart tells her so.
It seems like Maymay forgot everything--both past and present, because she reaches for Edward's face, tiptoes and pulls him towards her. Toto jumps down from Edward's grip. As soon as that happened, his hands are suddenly on Maymay's lower back, pulling her closer to him. She puts her hands behind his head and pulls him lower so that she could reach his lips. Maymay and Edward kiss each other with so much frustration, longing, sadness, happiness, and love.
Through their kiss, it is as if they are sending each other messages that only they can understand. But that is the problem with silent messages, they often get misinterpreted. Maymay seems to be the first to realized the mistake she's making at that moment. She immediately pushes Edward away from her, grabs Toto, and runs away.
"Maymay!!!" Edward yells as he runs after her.
"Edward, please stay. I need to be alone." Maymay yells without looking back.
Maymay can still hear his footsteps behind her, but she did not care. She ran as fast as she can, while Toto whimpers in her arms.
"I'm sorry baby, I'm just not ready yet" Maymay whispers to Toto. After a while, she starts to walk because her lungs can no longer keep up with her running anymore. And when she looks back, there is no sign of Edward anymore.
"Oh thank goodness" she lets out a sigh of relief. She puts Toto down and they start to walk home. Maymay sends a text to S right away just to give her an update, for sure she will get an ear load from her.
