AN: To be honest, I don't even know why people are still reading this book.. but if you still are.. my deepest gratitude!

So, I feel like I should give you guys an explanation for my disappearance... I got promoted at work! YAY me! But due to that, I am always physically and mentally exhausted. Hence why I cannot even give you an update.

Also, I wanted to write a story that is NOT CLICHE and unpredictable.. and because of that, I can't think of of any update.. But whatever, life is full of cliches anyway, right?

HAHAHA

Oh, and this chapter is for my two babies, Dits and Tine. They always constantly remind me of how I hurt them through this story. HAHA! I love you both, my darlings <3

Without further adieu, here yah go!

FLASHBACK

The sight of blood never rattles Sammie. After all, she is a doctor. However, seeing that much blood  and seeing it coming from her best friend brought so much emotions in her. Now, she truly understands why they never advise healthcare providers to care for their family. Because once it is the life of your friends and family, it is truly a different story.

"What's wrong, Doc?" the nurse asked as they wheeled Maymay in the Emergency Dept.

"I don't know. She may have accidentally cut a main artery.. " she breathed, "I don't know. But please, just look after her. And update me" she asked.

"Yes, Doc."

Sammie is pacing back and forth on the white floors that smells too much of aseptic--too clean. Her heart is pounding really loud as the nurses took her friend to the examination room. By now, she is already used to all the bullshit that Maymay has been pulling out of her ass--the smoking, the drinking, and oh god, the cutting. But, she loves Maymay. She is like the sister she never had, the best friend that she knows will stay in her life forever.

"Where's her family?" her mentor asks.

"In her hometown."

"I need to speak to them."

"Doc.. With all due respect, but Maymay is now an adult. We have to wait for her to wake up before we do anything."

Her mentor stared at her, and smiled shortly after. "Good job, Doc. Santos. My apologies. I will leave you Miss Entrata now. The only reason I am not arguing with you is because she is now stable.. They are safe. But just as an FYI, Doc. Santos, we have every right to contact her family in life and death matters. Please call me once she wakes up, so that I can update her."

With everything the doctor said, she only focused on one word. "They?" she asked.

The doctor nodded.

Even in confusion, she answered. "Yes, Doc." before walking towards Maymay's sleeping figure.

As soon as the doctor and nurse left the room, she settled herself right beside Maymay. "May, wake up!" she cried. "What have you done this time?"  Thinking that Maymay is still unconscious, Sammie continued talking. "I know you are hurting, May. But, all the things you are doing, are they really helping you? Are they making you happy?" she said through her tears as she grabs Maymay's hand, and grips it as she cries more. "It hurts to see you like this, and I know you feel lost, but now, I do too. Now, I don't know how to help you anymore. May, we are healers..." she chuckled a bit before continuing, "and as one, I should be healing you, but I am not helping you in any way at all. But, I can't stop trying now... I have to help you. I need to help you." she said before resting her head on the bed as she continued to hold onto Maymay's hand.
