Maymay is back in the building where Edward works at. Earlier, Edward called and informed her that he will be coming home late because he has to read and study plenty of cases for his upcoming trials."You sure you'll be okay, love?" he asks.
"Mhmm. I'll be fine, Edward. Stop worrying."
"Can't help it, especially you are all by yourself there at home." he puts the phone in between his shoulder and head. "..maybe you should go and hang with Sammie or go to Mum and Dad's since EJ is there." he suggests.
Over the weekend, Edward, Maymay, and EJ all went to his parents' house for dinner. And even though Edward didn't want to, EJ stayed there. It was a lot harder convincing him than Maymay because he is already so used to his daily routine when he gets home.
Everyday, he plays with EJ, feeds her, preps her for bed, and puts her to sleep. Afterwards, he would go back to the kitchen and help Maymay with cleaning up if she is not done yet. They would both clean as they talk about their day. Edward would then shower, followed by Maymay. On days that they feel like conserving water though, they shower together.
They would then lounge in their living room, or their bed and watch teleseryes. And right before they sleep, Edward will always remind her of his feelings for her--of how much he loves her.
In short, they are happy where they are. It's still confusing to most people, and with all honesty, even for them. Especially when people would ask about their status, but what matters for Maymay and Edward right now is that they are happy with their relationship.
"Actually, not a bad idea. I think, I will visit Sammie. I miss her anyway. I'd love to go and visit EJ, but I know how much your parents and Laura are enjoying her right now, so I won't take that away from them."
Edward smiles. This is one of Maymay's many traits that he truly loves. Everyday, it's like he is falling in love with her over and over again. And all he could really hope is so is she. "Okay, love. I'll pick you up at Sammie's later then. Okay?"
"Okay. I won't drive there then. I'll just take a cab."
"See you later, baby. I love you so much. Take care, okay?"
"Will do. See you later, Edward." she responds. She ends the call straightaway.
She knows that deep inside, she loves Edward. After all, it didn't really go away. Since they were kids--teenagers, high school students, her heart only beat for one person. However, telling him her real feelings, actually vocalizing them.Well, that is a different story. It still scares her, and she wants that fear to go away first. Because when she tells Edward those three words, she wants to be able to mean it wholeheartedly. When, and not if, because she knows she will let him know one day.
She enters the bathroom right away after ending the call.
As she is picking her clothes, an idea entered her mind. With that, she dials Justyne's number right away.
Maymay finds herself in the elevator as she retouches her lipstick and make-up. She also checks her hair that she curled prior to going to Edward's office. She also straightens her trench coat that she put on to avoid garnering attention from people and also to shield her body from the cool breeze outdoors, considering she's barely wearing any clothes under.
As she walks around the firm to Edward's office, she notices that the cubicles and offices are all empty. Just like what Justyne said, it is only Edward who is left in the office. She grabs the door knob, slightly twists it and pushes it open.
