He hears her running towards his room, "Yes Edward?" she says as she pants.
"How do I look?" he asks.
"OMG! You called me here just to ask that!? I thought something-"
"Just answer the question, do I look okay?" he asks.
Laura walks towards her brother and fixes his collar, "You know what this reminds me of?" she smiles, "your first date with Maymay many years back. Why are you so nervous anyway? It's just homecoming" she asks.
"You will think I'm dumb Laura, but I meant it when I said I will fight for her this time" he answers.
"That's sweet and all Edward, but you haven't answered my question. Why so nervous little bro?" she ruffles his hair.
"Urgh Laura! Not the hair!" he complains, "anyway, Maymay's dad wants to speak to me" he answers as he plays with the bottom of his shirt. A gesture he developed lately, signifying his nervousness.
"Oh, no wonder" she chuckles, "meeting the almost in-laws sounds exciting Edward!" she teases.
"Tsk. You mean the future in-laws?" he smiles at her.
"Confident now, are we?" she smiles.
"I have to be. I once hurt their daughter Laura, I need to show them that this time, I wouldn't anymore." he tells his sister.
Laura puts her hands on Edward's shoulders, and shakes Edward lightly, "Edward, you won't convince anyone with one speech, especially Maymay and her family. You destroyed the poor girl, left her broken and alone. I admit, even I felt angry for what you did, but I am your sister.." she sighs, "..anyway, just show them you are a better man now, that the Edward they all once loved is still somewhere in there" she finishes.
"Thanks Laura" he hugs her.
