4. Old Habits Die Hard

Kisses walks directly to the table where Gabrielle, Anne, and Ria are sitting. She kisses their cheeks, as they say their greetings to each other.

"Well, the bitch from hell is back" Yong says as he takes another swig from his beer.

Everyone is just watching her as she moves around the whole bar.

"Something looks different." Marco wonders out loud.

Vivoree slaps him in an instant, "Stop staring too much" she yells.

"Ouch! Jeez, darling.. Vive, all I'm saying is she looks different from high school, but she still got nothing on you" Marco winks at her.

"All I'm saying is, better act properly Gallo or else I will poke your eyes out" Vivoree threatens.

Marco smiles at her, "I love your jealous side, you look so adorable"

Maymay fakes a cough, "Uhm, excuse me.. but respect for the rest of us that are single" she teases.

"But you don't have to, if you only give us another chance" Edward whispers. Even with his low voice, everyone in the table heard him anyway. But before anybody could react, Kisses walks to their table.

"Hello everyone" she greets.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward and no one is saying a single word. "C'mon guys, it's been years. Let's move on already!" she smiles. "Anyway, speaking of moving on, I heard you guys broke up! " she tells Edward and Maymay. "What happened?" she asks.

Edward reaches for Maymay's hand, and grips it firmly. To everybody's surprise, she does not remove his hand, instead she put her other hand on top of his, and smiles sweetly, "Actually Kisses, there is nothing to move on from because Edward and I are back together" Maymay mutters.

"Since when?" Vivoree asks in surprise.

"Yeah, since when?" Marco adds, equally as surprise as everyone else.

To Maymay's rescue, it is a good thing that Edward is quick to catch up, "Just about ten minutes ago, we talked. We actually saw each other this morning and I did some explaining, and Maymay said she will think about it. So good thing Vive asked her to come" Edward smiled at Maymay, "and now, we talked again..and we are back together" he finished.

Maymay lets out a sigh of relief, and though she still feels like she just entered a whole lot of mess, she just can't let herself look like a loser in front of Kisses. She tightens her grip around Edward's hands, and smiles at him.

"Oh! Well, you know what they say.. old habits die hard. I wonder how long you guys will last this time" Kisses retorts.

"Right! Old habits die hard, you're still a bitch! Too bad, they can't do plastic surgery for your personality huh?" Vivoree snickers.

Kisses's face suddenly turned red, and her eyes became thin from anger. She grabs the glass with beer in front of her and was about to throw it Vivoree, "Try Kisses! And you will regret that you came tonight" Maymay says calmly, but her words are full of anger and threat behind them.

"Whatever!" Kisses replies as she turns around and walk towards her crowd-Gabrielle, Anne, and Ria.

"So now that she's gone, you guys can tell the truth, are you really back together?" Fenech asks.

As they are still holding each other's hand, Maymay gives Edward a light squeeze. Apparently, despite everything, they still understand each other. They look at each other's eyes and they nod at the same time.
