Chapter 14

Before first period I found Monty sitting in the main office.

"Hey pretty girl." He said and I shook my head

"What the fuck Monty?"

"That what I said." He said as I sat next to him

"This isn't funny, from what little I saw you really hurt him."

"So? He started it."

"Monty you have like 20 pounds on him is it really that hard to walk away?"

"He freaked out, we almost had an accident I said sorry and he shoved me and that was it."

"What are they going to do to you?"

"I don't know, they're still trying to figure out if it's on school property.' He said as the bell rang

"Perri you should get to class." Mr. Porter said walking over and I nodded

"I'll talk to you later." I told him and went to biology

"Where did you go?" Zach asked as I took my seat

"I had to get something from the office." I said and I could feel his stare

"What?"

"Don't start Zach."

"Are you and Monty together because I thought that we were.."

"You thought we were what?"

"Never mind."

"I never said we were getting back together, we just had a talk that was very needed and long over due."

"But you said....it obvious we still love each other we said it."

"Well maybe that isn't enough!" I snapped and few people turned and looked at us

"Perri, Zach I'm always glad to see students that excited about DNA." Mr.Hill teased and we went back to taking notes. When the bell rang I tried to get away from Zach but no such luck

"Perri we need to talk about us."

"There's not really much to talk about I just want to be alone now."

"Because of those fucking tapes. How are we letting a dead girl mess up everything for us."

"Are you serious? Things have been messed up, the things on those tapes already happened. She just brought them to the light. Granted some of us aren't ready to deal with it but it's out." I said and the bell rang

"Look I gotta get to class." I said walking away from him. During lunch I got a text from Jessica saying to meet her in the gym before class. I threw away the rest of my food and headed toward the gym. When I got there, Zach, Justin, and Courtney were there too so I instantly knew that this was about the tapes....again

"What's going on?"

"Clay...he took Courtney to Hannah's grave." Justin said and I looked at Courtney who looked like she was going to be sick at any second.

"Are you ok?" I asked and she just shook her head

"So I don't understand what's the point of all of this?" I said

"We have to do something about Clay." Justin said

  "Uh how about nothing." I said

"Even after what he did to you yesterday?" Courtney asked

"Yes so what? He grieving, like us he doesn't know how to handle what on theses tapes. For fuck sake he loved her." I  said and Zach nodded in agreement

"Besides we all know what she said was true." I said

"No it wasn't! How can you even believe that bullshit!" Jessica snapped and I looked at Justin who was looking at the floor

"Maybe you should take some time and thing about this Jess why would a dead girl lie?" I asked and Justin jumped up but Zach stepped in front of me

"Bad idea dude." He said

"Really?"

"Yeah." Zach replied

"Hey guys." Marcus called as he walked over

"I talked to Tony he said he'd take care of it." He said

"What does that mean?" Courtney asked

"Tony's a dick!" Justin snapped

"Whatever man Tony's cool."

"He's dick, a prick, and a cock."

"That's the same thing." Zach said

"Nuances of meaning." Justin said and I rolled my eyes

"Well if Tony's handling it why are we all still here?" I asked

"Tony's not going to do anything! I say we end the little fucker." Justin said and we all looked at him like he insane

"What fuck are you talking about Justin?" Alex said as he walked into the gym

"Jesus." I said looking at his face

"I know I'm handsome." He joked and I smiled a little

"What do you mean end him?" Jessica asked

"You know what I mean. We can make it look like a suicide start crossed lovers and all that shit,"

"Grow up Justin." Zach said

"Look who's talking you mama's boy."

"This is pointless we all messed up somewhere, in these chain of events. If any of us did maybe one thing differently Hannah might still be here. It's time that we all acknowledged that." Zach said and I smiled he finally starting to get it
