Chapter 23

Sundance's POV

It's been a week since I got my cast and I'm so bored because I get to do nothing. Hope comes over to my house a lot and we talked. She told me the other day that Anthony texted her and asked to take her on a date.

I talked to Anthony because he said they were going to get pizza and then he was going to take her to the bookstore. I told him it was a perfect idea because Hope loved to read. He told me he had to go get ready so he left and Lin and Vanessa walked in as he was leaving.

"Hey! How are you feeling?" Lin asked as he walked up to me.

"Better. I'm just tired from everything. I think I'm going to take a nap." I told him as I tried to stand up. He grabbed my arm and helped me up the steps.

I got into my bed and got my phone out. I started to look at my Twitter and saw all the things people were saying about me. About how I ruined Hamilton because I caused the show to end because I hurt myself dancing. I turned on music and stopped thinking about it. The song Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine came on and I immediately got up and started dancing. I started to run around like crazy in my room until I couldn't stand anymore and I fell into the bean bag chair in corner of the room. I started to close my eyes and I fell asleep.

I woke up and my music was off and I had a blanket over me. I tried to stand up from the bean bag but it was too low to the ground. I crawled over to my bed and pulled myself up and grabbed my phone.

I looked at my phone and I had messages from Hope. I opened them up and she told me she had to talk to me. I texted her back and told her to meet me at the park on our bench. You see, we have a special bench in the park where we always meet if we ever need to talk. I'm usually the one who tells her I need to talk, but sometimes she has problems too. No one is perfect. I hobbled down the steps and Lin and Vanessa were watching TV together.

"Hey! Did you have a good nap?" V asked.

"Yeah. Um... Can I go to the park and meet up with Hope?" I asked really fast.

"Um... I don't know. How are you going to get there? Can I go with you please so I know your okay?" Lin asked.

"I was just going to walk, but I guess you can come. You just have to promise that when Hope needs to talk to me you have to leave us alone." I told him.

He nodded and grabbed my crutches as we started to leave. I took them from him and he told me he would drive. We went down to the garage and I noticed a small piece of paper under the window wiper on the car. I grabbed before Lin could see it and started to read it. It said, I want her back. I plan on getting her soon. Don't do anything stupid, so I don't have to hurt you. I crumbled up the note and threw it.

I got into Lin's car and he started the car and pulled out of the parking spot. He turned the music on and the song Despacito came on and he groaned as he tried to turn the music off, but I slapped his hand because I wanted to listen to the song. I jammed to the song until we got to the park. I got out of the car and went to the bench as Lin looked for a parking spot.

After about 5 minutes Hope walked up to me and smiled. She sat down and said she had some good news. I saw Lin start to walk over so I started to talk to her in sign language. She started to tell me about her date with Anthony. She told me all about how he showed her all his favorite book and how they talked about authors. As I was talking to Hope I noticed a man sitting on a bench farther up then us and he wouldn't stop starring.

I told Hope about the guy and she said we could leave. I told Lin that we were hungry and that we were wondering if he could take us to pick up pizza and then hang out at the theater. He said yes. We picked up the pizza and then drove to the theater. Lin went to his dressing room to work on music as we walked on to the stage. I asked Hope if she wanted to do karaoke. She nodded and I pulled out a microphone. I plugged my phone in to the speakers and turned on the music.

I picked the song Work Song by Hozier. When I was finished Hope said it was her turn and stood up. She picked the song In My Dreams from Anastasia. She sang it beautifully and then told me to go again. I picked the song Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hanson and sang it with all my heart. After I was done I noticed that she had her phone out. I yelled at her because I realized that she had been filming my song.

She started to run from me. I started to run after her but I couldn't really run because of my crutches. I dropped them and just started to run after her. Eventually I realized I wasn't going to catch her. I came up with a plan to pretend like I got hurt. I fell to the ground and started to yell at her. She ran over and kept asking if I was ok. I grabbed her phone from her and checked her phone. She started to laugh as I realized she had already posted it.

I hit her and then got up. I was so mad at her because I didn't want anyone to see the video. I heard Lin coming down the steps and I told her we should hid. I know of a little secret hiding place under the stage. We crawled under the stage and I could hear Lin's footsteps getting louder and louder. He stopped right above us and sighed.

"I wonder were they went." Lin said really loud which confused me. I suddenly didn't hear footsteps anymore.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Lin screamed from behind and I literally ran too the back of the theater.

I fell to the ground in exhaustion and laid back. Lin walked up and stood above my head. He smiled at me and then helped me up. We walked back to the stage and I grabbed my crutches. Me and Hope got into Lin's car and he drove us back to his house.
