NOT A FAN

chapter 2

As we sat at the dinner table Jake began to talk about sports he was really into, dad talked about work, mom talked about Jersey, Maddie talked about her new outfit and I sat there quietly zoned out.

I wonder when the the Dolan Twins tour even starts... Maddie actually never told me.

I wonder what I'm going to make her do for an entire week....

"Emerson" my mom said snapping me out of my thoughts

"Hm?" I asked as I returned to reality

"Grandma asked you a question" my mom said giving me an annoyed look.

Oops...

"It's ok Em. I was just asking you what you're most excited to do here this summer" my Grandma said with her famous smile

I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted my Maddie of course.

"I know what I'm most excited for" Maddie said with a squeal

"Oh? And What's that dear?" My grandma said

"Meeting the Dolan Twins" she said with a loving sigh as she sunk into her seat think about the boys

I rolled my eyes and looked over to see Jake doing the same.

"Oh, and Emerson's coming with me!" She said perking back up out of her seat and clapping her hands excitedly

Jake immediately turned to looked at me with a pure look of confusion written on his face.

Ugh....

Now it's my turn to sink down in my seat.....

"I'm sure you girls will have a lovely time!" My grandma sing songs as she begins to clean up the dishes from dinner

As I lay on my bed checking Instagram I hear a light knock on the door.

"Come in" I say not looking up from my phone

"Hey" Jake says sitting on my bed

"Hey" I said with a smile

"Why are you going to that thing with Maddie?" He asks clearly amused

"Because she said she'll do whatever I want for a week" I said with a shrug and a smile

"Really? Niceee" he said fist bumping me

Jake is a really great brother.
He's overprotective at times, but never fails to be one of the greatest people to talk to.
He always listens to what I have to say and gives me the best advice.

Maddie walks into my room holding up two different dresses
"which one do you think I should wear to the show?" She asks looking between the purple and red dress in her hands

"The purple one" I said with a shrug

"Good choice" she says with a smile looking at the extravagant dress again.

"When is the stupid show anyways?" I say with a sigh as I lay back on my
bed

"It's not stupid and it's on Wednesday" she said

"I'm staying in the car" I said as I continue to scroll through Instagram

"Whatever" she said with an eye roll as she walks out of my room

Jake whistles and laughs "have fun with that" he says sarcastically as he walks out of my room

"I don't think that's even possible" I said with a laugh
