chapter 19

"I'm sorry you have to do this" I said with a laugh as I stood on the front porch of my Grandmothers house with him.

After my dad agreed that things could be worked out, his one condition was that Grayson came over and could meet the family.

I feel bad because Gray and I aren't even dating and he already has to meet my family.. Talking about awkward

"It's okay Em. I'm excited to meet your family" he said with a smile.

"Plus I want to take you somewhere after" he said with a wink

I took a deep breath and smiled.

"Hopefully you'll still want to after you meet them" I said with an eye roll as I opened the door.

As soon as I opened it, my whole family stood there with awkward smiles plastered on their faces.

I mentally smacked myself in the face.

"Hi Grayson, I'm Amy, Emerson's mom" my mom immediately said sticking out her hand to shake his.

"Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Robinson" Grayson said politely shaking her hand.

"You can call me Mr. Robinson, I'm Emerson's father" my dad said standing up tall and shaking Grayson's hand.

I could tell Gray was a little intimidated
By my father and I can't blame him.

My dad's a big guy, he has always lifted weights and could definitely come off a little strong... But Once you get to know him, he's actually really nice.

"Jake" my brother said eyeballing Grayson and not offering to shake his hand.

Great... He's probably going to give him the 'if you hurt her I'll break you in half' talk today.

Grayson just smiled getting the same idea.

"I'm the Grandmother" my grandma said sweetly, ignoring Grayson's hand out and going straight for a hug which I could tell he wasn't expecting.

He smiled and looked over at me "pleasure to meet you" he said with a small laugh.

Once they were done, I waited for Maddie to introduce herself but she stood there frozen.

"Mads" I said waving a hand in front of her face.

"Uhh- I- I uh I love you" she stuttered

Grayson laughed "I love you too" he said which caused her to nearly fall over.

"Will you sign my shoe?" She blurted randomly, sticking her foot up and holding out a marker.

"Sure" he said with a laugh taking the sharpie Maddie handed him and signing her shoe.

She squealed and gave him a giant hug as she jumped up and down.

"Maddie" I groaned hiding my face in my hands.

"I made grilled cheese" my Grandmother cheered from the kitchen.

I looked over at Grayson with a 'kill me please' look and he smiled and mouthed 'they are wonderful'

I couldn't help but smile at how accepting Grayson was. My family already seemed to be adjusting to him(except Maddie who is still practically drooling over him.)
