chapter 40

*Emersons pov*

I️ watched Grayson through all the commotion of the airport.

It almost seemed as if everything stopped and it was just him and I️ this big room.

All alone.

Just me and him.

Time returned to its usual speed when Grayson continued to walk towards me.....quickly.

My heart was pounding inside of my chest as
he made his way to me through the crowds and I️ soon found him standing only a few feet away from me.

I️ stared at him in confusion as to why he was here and also hurt because of the way I️ should've expected this to end.

I️ don't know where to start.

This boy gave me the best summer of my life, but I'm ready to let go of it and allow it to reside in my memory.

I'll never forget him, but it's time to let go.

Just as he was about to say something, the speakers turned on projecting a mans deep voice who was announcing that my flight was about to leave and to get in line to board the plane.

"I️ have to go" I️ choked out as I️ pointed over to my family who was gathering their things and getting ready to leave.

It was silent as Gray looked at me with eyes full of regret.

I️ quickly averted my eyes to Ethan.

"Bye Ethan" I️ said as I️ wrapped my arms around him.

I️ felt his arms wrap around me and squeeze me tightly.

"Bye Em" he said with a small smile.

I️ smiled back as he grabbed my hand and gave it a light squeeze.

I️ looked over at Grayson who looked extremely hurt.

His jaw was clenched and I️ could tell he was trying his hardest to not say anything.

I️ returned the look as I️ let go of Ethan's hand and slowly turned around to walk over to my family.

"Emerson" he said loudly causing the people around us to turn around and look at him.

I️ quickly turned around to look at him without hesitation.

"I️ love you. Okay." He said suddenly.

"I️m freaking IN love with you Emerson Robinson"

I️ watched him in awe as more people crowded around us.

"And I️ can't just watch you get on that plane and not know that you feel the same way" he said a little quieter.

"I️ want to spend the rest of my life with you" he said.

I️ watched in awe as a tear fell down my cheek.

I️ did the first and only thing that came to my mind in this moment....

I️ walked over to him and ran my fingers through his messy hair.

"I️ love you too" I️ said quietly

It was like as soon as I️ touched him, he knew everything was going to be okay.

And it was.

He leaned in and presses his lips against mine.

I️ heard the people around us clapping which caused me to smile as I️ pulled away.

I️ looked around and found my family who was also standing in the crowd clapping for us.

Lastly, my eyes landed on Ethan who was surprisingly clapping also.

I️ was expecting him to be a mad since we had been so close lately, but he actually seemed happy which made smile.

I️ looked at Grayson and sighed as I️ remembered I️ had to leave.

"I️ have to go" I️ whispered.

"Please stay" he begged.

I️ shook my head.

"I️ can't stay" I️ said quietly.

"But I love you and you love me, so we'll see each other again"

"Because I️ want to spend the rest of my life with you too" I️ whispered.

He smiled as I️ said that.

I️ kissed his cheek slowly.

He smiled slightly and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Bye Gray" I️ whispered

"Bye beautiful" he whispered back.

I️ looked over at Ethan who was smiling at me with many expressions I️ was unable read, but over all he looked happy.

I️ waved at him and blew him a kiss as I️ ran off to join the rest of my family before we missed our flight.

As I️ looked out the window of the airplane I️ smiled at the amazing summer I️ had just had and all I️ had been through and learned with Grayson.

I'll never forget the Dolan Twins and all of the amazing experiences I️ had with those two boys.

There are two things I️ know for sure today as I️ leave Cali.

One is that Im definitely fan of the Dolan Twins.

And two is that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with the one I️ love most and the one I️ never stopped loving.

Grayson.
