chapter 28

As we made our way through the crowd of people, several guys tried to start up a conversation with me which I could tell annoyed Gray a little.

"Cmon" he said with a groan as he pulled me away from some random guy.

"I don't see him" he said once we had reached a quieter corner.

"Me either" I said with a sigh.

"We need to get out of here anyways. The later it gets, the more drunk these people are going to get" he said.

I nodded my head in agreement.

I'm so so worried about Jake. I'm really hoping he hasn't done anything stupid..

"Hey, we're going to find him... Okay?" Grayson told me reassuringly as he pulled me in for a hug.

What if we don't?

I nodded my head into his chest.

The piercing sound of glass shattering and loud shouting broke up the sweet moment.

"Fight"
"Fight"
"Fight"
"Fight"

That couldn't be good.

I pulled away from my embrace in Grayson's arms to see people pushing through the crowd and beginning to circle around what I'm assuming is a fight.

"Let's get out of here" I heard him say as he intertwined our fingers and began trying to lead me around the large group of people who were still chanting.

"Wh-gray wait" I told him, pulling away from him and pushing through the crowd walking directly into the group of people who surrounded the fight.

"Emerson!" I heard Grayson yell after me, but he was already so distant.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion as I watched the scene in front of me.

The pain filled grunts coming from the boys and the beads of sweat rolling off of their brow only made the fight seem more intense than it already was.

I tried to yell, but nothing came out of my mouth.

I was frozen and unable to do anything to help.

Nothing could've prepared me for what was in front of me in this moment...

I couldn't believe my eyes.

Ethan was fighting..

But he wasn't just fighting anyone,

He was fighting my brother...
