Chapter twenty

I scurry to cover myself up.
"Matthew, it's not what it looks like." He doesn't even batt an eye in my direction, he just stands their glaring at Tobias.

"Oh really? I think it's exactly what it looks like!"

"Oh? And what's that?" Tobias speaks, tension dripping from every word.

"I think you were taking advantage of her when she is ill."

"Matthew-"

Tobias screams over me
"How dare you insist that!"

"Tobias-"

"I have every right to insist it!" Tobias gets up in his face, the veins in his neck are popping out.

"If you dare say that again-"

"I can't believe you would do something like that! She clearly isn't well, and you just have to prance on in here and start rolling on top her-" A fist flies out and crashes into Matthews nose. He stumbles back pinching his bridge and trying to stop the blood from flowing.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?"

"That- was for implying that I would EVER hurt Tris! She is the most beautiful and special women in the world and the best thing to ever come into my life and I would NEVER do anything to hurt her! EVER!" I am speechless

"Tobias" I say softly, but his fingers on my chin shut me up.
He pulls me down in for another soft kiss which makes me melt into his touch, ignoring Matthews grunts of disapproval. Tobias moves his hands to my waist and lightly squeezes, resulting in a moan from me.

"I'm out of here!" Matthew announces before storming out of the room. We break the kiss and I rest my forehead against his, staring him in the eye.

"What was his problem?" Tobias sighs and closes his eyes.

"Can't you see?" My lips turn down in a slight frown.

"What are you talking about?" His eyes flash open, and startle me.

"Are you that blind?!?" The anger in his voice is evident and sudden. I lean away from him.

"Tobias- your scaring me." His eyes immediately fill with guilt and he softens his tone, lightly grabbing my arm so I am forced to look him in the eye.

"I'm sorry it's just...... Can't you see the way he looks at you? It's clear he has feelings for you, and I don't want to lose you."
It's not possible.. Matthew has feelings for me? I could never think of him like that, he's just a friend to me.

"I love you. I'm not going anywhere Tobias, I could never leave you. You are the only one I could ever love."
He smiles and pulls me onto his lap, stroking my hair but avoiding my scar.

"I've waited so long to hear you say those words. I love you too Beatrice, with all of my heart and all of my soul. I will always love you, no matter what."
