Tris chapter twenty four

His thumb cups around my chin, and his other arm wrapped around my neck bringing his lips on mine harder, faster, stronger.

He is leaving me breathless, and not in a good way.

Tobias is not the one kissing me, no, it's Matthew. Matthew, our geeky scientist and friend, who I never ever thought was capable of something like this, oh how wrong I was.

Here he is forcing himself upon me and ignoring my shrieks of pain.

The hurt is a constant supernova in the back of my head. He is too strong. I am too weak to resist.

"Matthew, please," It comes out as a weak whisper, he has literally drained all the energy from my body.

He finally pulls back with eyes wide.

He immediately moves his hands but leaves them lightly on my shoulders.

"TRIS! Oh my god, Tris I'm so so sorry! I don't know what came over me!" Unwillingly tears start dripping down my face and Immediately Matthew reacts. He reaches forward causing me to flinch and gently wipes away my tears.

"No, please don't cry. I promise I won't hurt you. God- I- I'm so sorry. I was so worried about you and then I saw you lying here and couldn't resist. When you woke up, I lost it.

I was so relieved that you were okay, I lost all sense of mind. I swear I will never ever do anything like that ever again!" He gently caresses my face and I am frozen; I do not know how to respond.

I cannot forget what he just did, these last few minutes are playing over and over again in my mind.

That was a side to him I've never seen before, and I don't want to see it again.

My shoulders start to heave as I release sobs I can no longer hold in.

"Shhhhh it's okay, c'mere."

He slowly pulls me into his warm embrace, and softly holds me; as to not frighten me. I don't fight the hug, somehow I know that what he is saying is true and that he won't try anything. I let it all out on his chest, wetting his shirt with my tears. I am sobbing so hard I start shaking and he carefully tightens his grip around me, although nothing like before.

Before it was cruel, and hungry, and desperate, and menacing.

Now it is kind, and gentle, and comforting, and shockingly

I am finding myself liking it.
