16: I Miss Her

ONE YEAR LATER (Current Day)

Joanthan's POV:

I can't believe it has been a year since I lost my precious mate, R-R-Ri. I can't even say her name! I miss her a lot and ever since that fateful day, my wolf hasn't spoken a word and he refuses to let me shift. Even when it is a matter of life or death, he makes it so painful that I can't without nearly killing myself. It's not his fault that it's painful, it is because he is so weak and in pain from losing his mate, that he won't allow himself to come out and that makes it painful for me to try to shift.

When I woke up this morning, I had a feeling that is was gonna be a good day. It was the day they announce when football, baseball, soccer, etc (basically all sports teams) tryouts would be. But I have a feeling that there is gonna be more happening than that today. I showered, put some clothes on, and went down stairs to get some breakfast. When I got down stairs, I went to the pantry and got out the Chocolate Mini-Wheats. I know what your thinking, 'Why eat those when you can have the Omegas cook a gourmet breakfast for you?', but I just felt like having a simple breakfast today. As I was about to pour the mil over my ceral, I heard the most earpeircing sound/voice, EVER! It was Sandy!

I tried to hide behind the counter but with her werewolf senses, she sniffed the air and found me immediately.

"Whatcha doin baby?" She sceetched

"I was about to eat my breakfast but I just lost my appetite." I said as I tried to walk around her

"Why do you always leave the room when I come in? Do you not like me? I thought I was the perfect woman, after all, I am your mate. You can't deny it forever." She said, trying to be seductive.

"First, we are NOT mates and second, I need to go because I have go do some patrol." I said trying to make up an excuse to leave her.

"We are mates, Riley is dead and she didn't even know you were a werewolf, much less a soon-to-be Alpha. We were meant to be. You've just been to blind, Riley didn't deserve you, you deserve a much more rewarding mate, one that isn't a weak human." She stated

When she mentioned Riley, I couldn't hold myself (or my wolf) back and I screamed in her face, "Riley was six times (A/N: I had just finished watching MegaMind and this is number he used in the movie) the woman you are and WE ARE NOT MATES!!!!! Get out of the house!!!!" 

I had used my Alpha voice to make sure she actually left the Pack House, but right when I thought she was going to leave, she said, "We are mates, don't deny that you love me." With that siad, I pionted towards the door and she walked out.

After she left, I let out a big howl that was full of agony, longing, and pain. I missed my mate. I needed her. I'm surprised I haven't gone crazy or died. Most werewolves that lose their mates go insane or kill themselves. I guess it was because I hadn't marked or mated with her yet. I wish I had though, she could've talked to me and I could've found her that much faster. I would'vw been stronger. But that is in the past, you can't bring people back from the dead. I've looked into it.

I was on my way to school when I noticed a girl at Riley's front door, talking to Riley's mom and dad. The girl looked slightly familiar but I couldn't decide where I had known her from.

When I got to school, it was like any other day. Sandy clung to my side (even though I really didn't want her to), I ignored Sandy, I ignored the teachers (except the PE coach), but the last part of the day was different. I waited for the annoncements.

"Team tryouts are in two weeks. Each week we will have a new tryout. The specific dates will be posted on the door and the website. You are now dismissed." The speaker announced

All the guys jumped and cheered, excited that tryouts were so close.

We all walked out of the school, excitedly talking, when I noticed dark brown (with red highlights) hair wisp past me. That hair was just like Riley's. I looked around, trying to find the person who had such great hair, but when I looked around, it was gone. I guess it was just my imagination.

I must be going into crazy mode from losing her. OH LORD!!!!!
