Chapter 16

"So... you and Jc huh?" Andrea asks me, she pokes at her salad but doesn't break eye contact.

"Yeah... me and Jc..." I blush a little and shove a big piece of lettuce into my mouth.

"How long?" Jenn asks me, "Since yesterday." I smile.

Andrea wanted me to meet her room mate Jenn so we all met for lunch, turns out they're both really funny and cool.

"Oooo." Jenn giggles, my phone vibrates and I pray that it's Kat.

Ever since yesterday when she dropped me off and I got all pissy she's been ignoring all my texts, I haven't told her about Jc and I- this kind of thing needed to be told in person (cheese but necessary)

I wip out my phone quickly, "So quick to answer your bf?" Jenn says.

I roll my eyes and smile- it was, as matter of fact, Jc.

Jc: Hey babe, when you gonna b home?

The word 'home' stuck out like a sore thumb, was the boy's house actually my home? I mean sure I was staying there but, home? It feels more like a beach house, you only live in it for a month then go home when the summer's over.

But I don't have a permanent house to live in, I shake my head and try to erase my thoughts and turn back to my messages.

Me: Soon:P

I tuck my phone in my pocket and turn back to Andrea and Jenn. "He just wanted to know when I'd be coming back."

They both nod.

After a lunch full of laughter and conversations about past relationships, they pull up to the driveway of the boys' house.

As soon as I enter the door I'm crushed by a huge hug, "Wha..?"

The assaulting hugger steps back and smiles "Sorry-" Jc says "-I sorta miss you.." He kisses me on the lips bringing my hand to his shoulder, I kiss back and my heart flutters as he lays his big hands on my hips. We pull apart and a goofy grin's across his face.

I smile back at him, "So when's our first date gonna be?"

I shrug, "How about-" Suddenly my phone vibrates- it's Kat!

I beam and excuse myself from Jc, I run outside and answer my phone. "Kat!" "Tori, I found out why Jc was so suspicious."

I stay quiet, not this again. "Kat why can't you just-" "I found one of his old friends on the internet. He used to live in Texas, he used to use girls to get into parties, abused them, and he just 'used' them if you're getting my vibe.-" I open my mouth to speak but she cuts me off.

"-and don't you use that 'he may have changed' shit on me. I got his Instagram-" "You're stalking his Instagram?" "Oh shut up. Anyways, he posted a picture of him and a girl kissing yesterday and the caption reads 'oh hey didn't see you there winky face hashtag the babe hashtag hottie' he hasn't changed Tori."

I feel my eyes get watery, "Tori are you ok-" I storm past him and into the house. I run to the bathroom and slide down the corner- I hear a muffled sigh.

"Tori, I'm so sorry" Kat whispers through the phone, "It's ok...-" I manage to say. "-but now I'm dating him."

The line goes dead and I'm half sure she's ether:

A- so mad she can't speak

or

B- on her way over

I'm guessing it's B, I hear a bang on the door. "Tori, are you ok?" Jc yells.

I have to pretend like everything is ok, I need him to prove Kat wrong- or sadly right.

I wipe off my tear and open the door, "Sorry, a bug flew in my eye and I freaked."

Jc nods, "So when's our dating gonna be?"

I shrug, "I don't know-" I think back to what Kat said "- someplace public" I say under my breath.
