not edited sorry!

While I was brainstorming what's wrong with Kat, it dawned on me that I haven't been spending time with Jc lately. I suddenly feel very shameful for forgetting him in this whole Connor Kat smash.

But before I could suggest anything, Kat comes running into the living room. Her eyes are crazed as she met mine, "Y-y-your dad is looking f-for you."

As Kat sipped the cocoa I made for her, she started to ramble on about what happened: "After you left, Kayden got all weird and wanted to see if you were ok and I just got so annoyed that I kicked him. After that I just sulked around the house for about an hour, then all of the suddenly a hella loud pounding came through the front door. Without even a step off the couch your fucking dad came marching in demanding I tell him where you are. Of course I didn't tell him, being the smart person in this friendship I didn't say I didn't know because everyone says that. So I told him you moved to Oregon to live out your dreams of being an artist, ya know to paint all the trees and shit up there. I don't think he bought it though, good news is he doesn't know where you are so that's good."

I pat her knee and smile, "Thanks Kat, I don't know what I'd do without you."

She smiles back at me and shivers under the blanket I laid over her.

"So, what is going on with you and Keaton..." I emphasize his name to make sure she doesn't forget it- again.

"He's just a fling" she waves her hand off.

"But aren't you with Connor?"

"No. Why would I date someone who cheated on me? Think about it Tori."

Is she implying that I break up with Jc? I would never do that, he may have cheated but it wasn't technically his fault. I hate to think about this, Kat's words sting.

'Why would I date someone who cheat on me?'

Maybe because I love him.

Did I just say that?!

"Are you sure you don't wanna stay here? Ya know so my dad doesn't come back..." I ask Kat as we reach the front door.

"Nah, it's fine. Besides I don't wanna intrude."

"That's what I used to think..."

Kat ignores my last sentence and steps out to the driveway- "Kat!"

Before I could process what's happening, Connor ran right pass me and up to Kat.

I stared at them, they stood awkwardly in front of eachother.

Without warning Kat raises her hand and slaps Connor, he stays stiff- not even flinching.

She then stomps off to her car and drives away, leaving Connor still as a pole in the driveway.

"I deserved it." he yells to me.

All I do is chuckle and nod.
