It was the mark of 2 months since Jc left that Connor decided it was a good day to go drink our sorrows in alcohol- of course I didn't deny.

I was only 19 so I had use my old fake ID, not that the people at 'Rupert's' bar cared, apparently Connor was a regular.

We sit ourselves at the bar, the stools were coated in leather and black nail polish to cover the rips. Not that it's not that noticeable.

"I'll take a shot of tequila." Connor says to the bartender, she looks about my age, maybe a little older. Her chestnut hair was to her waist, she had purple hair lights and a lip ring. She wore an Arctic
Monkeys shirt and dark blue shorts that came just above mid thigh.

She smirks at Connor and I, her grey eyes flicker from one to the other. "Comin' right up, how 'bout you?" She says to me.

"I'll have whatever you use to take away the pain." I sigh, noticed the wood on the table is cracked and splintery.

The girl laughs, I notice her name tag says 'Sam'. "This is a bar, if you drink enough of anything you'll feel no remorse, regret, or any other feeling that's killing you."

I instantly like this witty girl, "I'll take beer."

She nods at me, and at the moment I knew that this night would turn out to be like no other.

After my 2nd glass of beer my phone vibrated on the bar table, Aaron's number flashed across my screen.

I paused then remembered that he was that one YouTuber Connor filmed with. Funny, I don't remember giving him my number.

I click answer:

"Hello?"

"Hey Tori, what's up?"

"Nothing much..."

He clears his voice, "I was wondering if you were free tonight.."

"Uhm, hold on..."

I turn to Connor, "It's Aaron." I tell him, I reach for the receiver and cover it.

"Aaron...?"

I can tell Connor is clearly drunk by the way he slurred his words, "The one you filmed with?"

"Oh! The guy who kept checking you out? That's guys fuuuu-uuuunnnny!" he slurs the last word.

I roll my eyes, yet I still blush.

"He wants us to hangout, how should I say no?"

"Like this: Yesss Aaron I would love to meet your ass somewhere."

I gape at his answer, "No! I'm busy..." I purse my lips and look at the ceiling.

"Drinking at a bar isn't quote on quote 'busy'. You gotta get over Jc Tor, he's gone- zip, no where, outtie-" I notice his eyes are red- drunk or depressed?

"-go with him. I'll be fine."

Maybe he's right, I have been mourning Jc way too long- he's starting to sound like my husband who was killed in war. When in reality, he was just a boyfriend, who I love very much, that couldn't handle a secret or me finding something out.

I take my hand off the receiver, "I'm as free as America."

Aaron chuckles, "Awesome, I'll pick you up at 7:45. That cool?"

It was currently 6:32, "Cool. Cya soon!" I smile and hang up.

"So..?" Connor smiles goofily.

"He's picking me up at 7:45."

"Go get it girl!"

I laugh louder than needed, but who cares anymore?

Thats when I realize Connor is drunk and can't drive, "Connor come home with me, you're drunk."

"No, imma' stay here." His left eye twitches, how many shots has he had?!

"Co-"

"It's fine, Tori is it? I can take him home." Sam smiles at me.

"Thank you so much."

I write down the address and hand it to her.

As I walk out the bar door I hear Connor yell, "Don't let him touch the butt!"

I laugh as I walk to the car, this has been the most times I've smiled and laughed in what feels like forever.

Maybe I am making the right decision...
