Chapter 3

For lunch we decide to eat at a cute little diner across from the mall called "Toni's".

Connor picked it because he said their cheeseburgers are "ama-zaiiiin", but I personally think he picked it because it sounded like Tori. Oh well.

We're seated by a waitress with long red beautiful hair, i sit down in the booth and Jc scoots a little too close for comfort next to me.

This is weird, the waitress eyes Jc and I then sashays away.

"Was that...?" Connor starts, "Yep" Jc responds rolling his eyes.

I look from Connor to Jc in confusion, "Ex" Jc shrugs.

"What's her name?" "Aj." "Aj?"

That's a weird name for a girl with such sass, "Short for Alison Janele" Jc explains.

That makes more sense, when Aj comes back with our menus she places them on the table then gasps in shock when she sees Jc.

"My, my! Look what we have here! Jc! How've ya been honey?" she says, It takes her this long to realize that he's here? This girl couldn't be more fake.

"Hey Aj." Jc responds casually, "Oh no, no, no! Please call me Ali, people call me that now. Of course, you would know that if you-" she lays he palms on the table and stares daggers into Jc "- stuck around"

I can practically hear her nails scraping the bottom of the table, this is a bit scary...

"Ok then-" Connor starts, rubbing his hands together "-drinks anyone?"

When our food arrives (delivered by another server, thank god. I was worried she would dump all the food on Jc then giggle and say "Oops, I'll get a napkin. Stick around."

I immediately dig into my cheeseburger, Connor was right- these are magical tasting!

In a matter of seconds I'm done my burger and I excuse myself to go to the bathroom.

When I enter, I spot Ali (Aj?) hogging the mirror trying to put on some mascara. She spots me and clicks her tongue, "My, my, my. What do we have here?"

I freeze as she turns around, "What's your name sweety?" "Do I look like a sugar cube? Don't call me that."

Ali stiffens in surprise by my outburst, then she rolls her eyes. "Tori, my name's Tori."

She laughs a bit, "More like Snori, you're so boring. Trying to get with Jc-" she laughs again "-not a good wa-ay" I've heard better trash talk from a cheese sandwich.

"Listen you bi-" I stop then take a deep breath. "First off, I don't like Jc. I'm just crashing at his house, and besides I just met him."

She continues her mascara lathering and replies "Sounds more like a serious hook-up to me."

I roll my eyes, I am not arguing with this red headed barbie doll. I march out of the bathroom- completely forgetting to pee- and right to the booth.

"You were in there a while, what happened?" "Jc, I'm sure she doesn't want to talk to you about he lady issues" Connor says.

"No, no. Just a run in with that red haired-snarled tooth-mascara applying-bit-" "Wow, wow, wow! You got in a fight with Aj?" Jc says amused.

"More like a chat until I almost snapped off her head."

Jc laughs, I ball my fists up and sit down- still fuming.

"We aren't leaving her a tip" I snap.

"I know-" Jc laughs again "-I know."
