Rory lay curled with her head on Logan's chest. After his epiphany, he had dragged her back to bed and they had lost themselves in each other again. Finally satiated, they had curled up together. Logan's breath was even and steady, but she knew that he was awake.
"We should figure out what our next step is now." Rory broke the silence.
"We need to go back to Hartford. I need to get some things." Logan replied. "We should also find Odette and the boys."
"Likely drinking with my father." Rory mused.
"Nah. Odette doesn't drink. She would have gone to a good hotel." Logan replied.
Rory nodded. "I'll reach out to Finn. Who knows, they could be here."
Logan gave he a light kiss on the lips. "No chance. The Plaza has been verboten since... well, since you and I were here last."
"So, if Robert had any say into where they went..." Rory reasoned.
"Nah. I doubt it. I'm going to grab a shower. Can you track down the boys and Odette?" Logan asked with a smirk.
Rory gave him a light push towards the bathroom and laughed as she reached for her cell phone. She glanced at to before realizing that the battery was dead. She reached across to Logan's pants strewn across the foot of the bed and grabbed his phone out of his pocket. She grimaced when she noticed that it was turned off. She switched the power on to be confronted by the password prompt.
Rory began to get out of bed to ask Logan, when she noticed the lock screen was an image of a playing card. The Ace of Hearts. She smiled to herself.
She tried her name as the password and was denied. She gave a chagrined chuckle. Not so easy. She tried Sandra, after the heroine of the Long Morrow and then Douglas after the male lead. She had 7 guesses left until the phone locked her out. She thought for a moment.
<TheWhiteQueen> she typed in. The phone opened to the home screen. She smiled to herself.
She open the contacts list and called Colin first. His phone went directly to voicemail. She tried Finn and Robert to the same effect. She took a deep breath and tried Odette.
"Mom cher- are you both okay? Did you elope?" Odette asked with a laugh as she answered.
"Salut, Odette- no, we just needed some time alone to process. Where are you? Are the boys with you?" Rory chuckled.
"Non, they went to Finn's sisters home. I am at the Four Seasons. I could not keep up with them. The time change hit me around 9 pm." Odette replied. "But are you two ok? Are you still in 'ew York?"
"We are at the Plaza." Rory began.
"The Plaza! Mon dieu! Logan hates The Plaza! How on earth did you get him there?" Odette seemed truly shocked.
"Oh. Um, the Plaza is kinda a thing for us." Rory replied.
"D'accord! I see. Well that explains it. Ok, so do you two have a plan?" Odette asked.
Rory began to reply as Logan returned from his shower, with a towel slung low around his hips, distracting her. "Yes, we would like to meet up in an hour or two? Perhaps a late lunch? I have tried to call the boys but all phones go straight to voicemail. I imagine they are sleeping off the effects of whatever mischief that they got into last night. Would that work for you?"
"Oui. If I hear from the boys I will tell them. Perhaps a true New York deli? I enjoy the American food when I am here!" Odette enthused.
"Sounds great. So we should do the Carnegie, nothing else compares." Rory replied. "And if we still haven't found the boys, we will try Finn's sister's then. Say 2?"
"Perfect. I will see you both there."
Logan stood at the end of the bed, bemused at the exchange he could hear from Rory's side of the conversation. "No luck finding the boys?"
"Odette says they went to see Harper. Do you know where she lives?" Rory replied, while texting the boys the time and location for their lunch.
"Somewhere in TriBeCa. I think I have a number for her on my phone." Logan nodded. "Makes sense if we were in town anyway. Finn always stops by to see her when we are coming through the city."
Rory replied. "Hold on- you just got a reply from Robert. Apparently they are alive and dropped off our overnight bags last night. They should be at the front desk. They will meet us at the deli at 2."
