Rory stretched, shaking off the last wisps of sleep. She turned towards Logan, who was still sleeping soundly and a smile crossed her face. A warmth began in her chest and radiated out slowly. She couldn't believe that they were finally here together, on the brink of starting their joined lives.
Logan's breathing shallowed as he began to wake. She watched as he came to awareness and noticed her smiling at him.
"Morning, Ace. Enjoying the show?" He chuckled.
"I am. I can't believe that we found our way back together. Logan, can you believe how lucky we are?" Rory responded.
Logan rolled onto his side, closer to his love. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I will never take it for granted."
Rory laughed for a moment and then suddenly jumped out of bed. She ran towards the bathroom of their hotel room, slamming the door behind her. Logan sighed and reaching for the room phone. He again ordered breakfast and a paper and pulled on the complementary robe. Moments later, he heard Rory's cell phone ring and grabbed it, walking towards the bathroom door.
"Ace, Paris is calling!" He yelled through the door.
"Answer her!" Rory called back.
Logan shrugged and tapped the phone to answer the call. Before he could say a word, Paris began to talk.
"Rory, I'm so sorry. I've been delivering babies back to back for the last two days! I have no idea why I ever agreed to cover for Lilian while she was on vacation! Her practice is nuts! I haven't seen my own kids since Sunday. But, it's actually nice catching babies- I've been lucky than there hasn't been one negative or complicated case! The mommas are just popping them out like it's their job. And the brand new ones? So damn cute. Makes my ovaries itch! Enough about me! How are you feeling? Are you taking your prenatals? Make sure that they have at least 400 meg or better yet 800. What about frat boy? Did you talk to him? What did he say? Is he coming back to the states? Answers, Gilmore!"
"Hi Paris." Logan drawled.
Paris let out a squeak. "Logan! Hi! How are you?"
Laughing, Logan answered. "I'm good. Rory's driving the porcelain bus, but she's been trying to call for days, so I thought I would answer her phone. What are you doing on Friday evening?" Logan watched as Rory walked into the room, holding on to the door jam before sitting gingerly on the end of the bed.
"Friday? Nothing that can't be rearranged. Why? What's happening on Friday?" Paris asked.
"Hold on. I'll let Rory tell you." Logan handed her the phone. Rory immediately hit the speaker function and dropped the phone on the bed.
"Paris! Do you have a good little black dress?" Rory asked.
"Several. Classy, cute or sexy?" Paris responded.
"Classy but simple." Rory answered. "I need you to meet us at Honour's house in Hartford at 5 on Friday. Bring the dress."
"Ok. Honour's house? I'll need the address." Paris immediately replied. "What are we doing?"
"Logan and I are getting married at 6. I need you as my bridesmaid. Lane and mom will be standing for me as well."
There was dead silence from Paris for a long beat.
"Married. Wow. Ok." She laughed. "I'd make a joke about it being about time, but that would be in poor taste. I think the timing is actually perfect."
"Me too" Logan replied.
""So I take it Logan took the news well?"
"You could say that!" Rory laughed.
"Ok! I've got to make some calls to arrange to get off work early on Friday. Oh, Huntzberger? You hurt her, I hurt you. Capisce?"
"Good to know you never change, Paris!" Logan called over his shoulder, as he went to let room service in.
