May pinuntahan kami ng Mama ko kanina, mas mabilis pa maglakad kaysa sa akin, nakaakyat at baba na ng 6 flights of stairs (3 each), ako nasa kalagitnaan pa lang. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, teka, sino ba ang Senior Citizen sa aming dalawa?

"Ma, mukhang hindi pa kami makakabalik tonight dyan ni Dei. May fever ako"

"Fever na lang pala. Papasundo ko na kayo ki Johnny mamaya. Paracetamol ka na lang, hindi naman ikaw ang magdadrive!"

"Ma, kasi si Dei, nahulog sa kama kanina"

"ANO? ANONG PINAGAGAWA NIYO? ANONG NANGYARI KAY DEI? DALHIN MO NA SA HOSPITAL"

"Ma, wait lang. I'll put you on speaker."

"Hi Auntie Rose!"

"Hi Hija, are you okay? Do you feel pain from any other part of your body? What did the doctor say? Should we get you an ambulance? Or maybe should we send a chopper?" the Faulkerson matriarch's voice became very concerned.

"Ma, ako hindi mo kukumustahin?"

"Hay naku, ikaw, ikaw, Ricardo! Tinawagan ko si Jerald kanina, ikaw daw ang nag-aaya na magmotor hangang Tagaytay at umuulan pa, tapos inabot kayo ng alas-4 ng umaga. Kaya ka nagkakasakit e! Kasalanan mo yan!"

"ARAY!!!! Ma, pinapalo ako ni Dei!!"

"Auntie! He made me worry. I thought it was my fault that he got sick because we ran in the rain, Hindi pala." 

A few more slaps was heard in the room

"ARAY, ARAY sabi, ang sakit noon ah."

"Dei, hija, ignore Ricardo. What did the doctor say?"

"Auntie, na-twist daw po yung ankle ko. Mga 4-6 weeks daw po. There's a little bruising and tenderness, and it's painful walking."

"Sounds serious, Hija"

"ARAY, ano ba Dei, pulang pula na yung braso ko!"

"This is your fault, RJ!"

"Auntie, I'm putting ice on the injured part and Doc Manny's placed a compression wrap to reduce the swelling and I'm also taking some pain reliever."

"Sounds like everything is under control. Johnny, the driver is on his way mga in 30 minutes and yan na siya. I sent the Van so that you'd be comfortable, I'd still want to you to see a doctor, Hija. Ikaw din, Ricardo. Leave as soon as you can when Johnny arrives, baka abutan kayo ng traffic."

"Ma, teka hindi ba 2 hours ang drive papunta dito, bakit in 30 minutes andito na si Johnny?"

"Iho ang daming mong tanong! Bumalik na kayo dito pagdating agad ni Johnny!"

"Thanks, Auntie!"

"Sige, I'll see you both soon, bye!"
