"You've been smiling all the way from SanFo. I didn't want to ask but now I'm curious."

"RJ, Love, You promise that you won't get mad?"

"Huh?"

"Why would I get mad?"

Dei smiles and asks Richard to sit down. Dei sits on his lap.

"Dei, what did you do?"

"What me? I didn't do anything?"

"I love it when you sit on my lap, but there's something strange about this one."

Dei proceeds to give Richard a quick kiss. "I didn't do anything. I'm just wary of what your reaction would be."

Richard raises one of his eyebrows, "Go on, Love."

Dei starts by telling Richard about what happened in the restaurant. 

"Dei, Good thing it was only hot water."

"I know."

"Did they apologise?"

"Yes, they sent me a decadent chocolate cake. I had it to go. It's in the fridge so that we can eat it later."

"You know, any minute now, I might just hide your passport so you can't leave me." 

Richard kisses Dei on the temple.

"Silly boy!"

Richard caresses Dei's face and kisses her jawline. 

"RJ, Love. You haven't shaved yet, it's tickling me!"

He stops. "Dei, I don't think that's the only story."

She touches his nose with her finger. "Very smart, my boy."

Dei tells him about the incident in the mall up to when the security caught her with jewelries in her bag.

"What? Dei, I'm telling you someone's trying to sabotage you."

"You're not at all suspecting me to being a shoplifter?"

Richard's face changed, as if she said something impossible that happened.

"RJ, Love, No?"

"Dei, one, I don't think you are going to shoplift, and jewelries at that. The person who set you up doesn't know you. Jewelries? Puff. (Richard shakes his head)really? You like jewelries but you don't buy one, most of them are gifts. Two, if you wanted the thrill, it's not the right avenue, you'd be bugging me to sky dive or go bungee jumping. Three, the only way I'd believe you'd shoplift is if you were really hungry and grab food."

"RJ!" Dei laughs while hitting him on the arms and chest. 

"No, seriously, did you get to watch the CCTV. I think someone's setting you up."

"We did. It's a good think that we let cool heads prevail. The manager was reasonable. I asked the property manager if we can watch the video. We found the culprit."

"Did you ensure that they rot in jail?"

"Well..."

"Dei?"

"You know we both like to keep a low profile. But a lot of people saw me getting escorted to the back room. So I had them call the owner of the place. "

"But who was setting you up?"

"RJ, Love." Dei was caressing his face with her hands. "Give me your hands"

Dei intertwines her hands with his and gives him a kiss.

"Dei, you are stalling."

"It was Valerie, her mother and her godmother."

Richard's eyes darken.

"RJ, Love. I took care of it."

Richard calms down a little. "What did you do? Did you report them to the police?"

Dei shakes her head. "I called up someone in the Philippines and got the lawyers to break their lease for 4 of their stores and gave them a week to leave. I asked the owner of the store to cancel their membership worldwide and they've been banned from the building."

Richard pulls down her shirt to expose her shoulders and gives her small kisses. 

"Dei, I love it when you're independent and you can actually take care of yourself. I think it's really hot." 

He starts nibbling and sucking her shoulders.

"RJ, Love. I think you are distracting me."

"From what?" Richard tries to look innocent.

"Promise me that you won't do anything"

"...."

"RJ..."

"You know I can't help it. I'm only like this when it comes to you."

"I know. So make me a promise?"

Richard nods. "But the next time?"

"The next time, I'll make sure they will pay for it and I will come to collect."

"Good girl. See, you don't really need me."

"What? Of course I do, who will make me food?"

They break into a laugh

"We're going back to the Philippines tomorrow, this vacation is over."

"Pero Dad, di ba we are going to check out schools?" Valerie tells her father, who was pacing back and forth in the room. 

"Ma, start packing our things." Her father tells her mother.

"Hindi na. Doon ka na lang mag-aral. We need to go back. The leases for four of our stores have just been terminated and we were given a week to move out. It was supposed to be a five year contract. We are going to lose millions if we don't find another location soon. I'm going to have this investigated and I will ensure that whoever caused this gets punished. I'm sure someone did something very stupid and I am going to find out" Her father said seriously and left the room.

By this time, Valerie and her mother were shaking in fear.

"Ang sarap talaga nitong cake, Thank you, Dei, Love for bringing me some."

"I know you love chocolates so I thought we'd share this."

"Dei, wait lang, may dumi ka."

Richard licks the side of her lips.

"Ikaw talaga, RJ! Maka-kiss lang."

"Syempre. I'll take whatever I can get." He winks at her.

Dei shakes her head and cups his face. "RJ, Love. You know I love you, di ba?"

Richard nods. "Pero RJ, you can't wink."

"Sige, Dei, magpapractice ako for you. Pero para saiyo lang"

Dei blushes. "Hala, ikaw talaga!"

"Dei, alam mo if I have a daughter someday, I want them to be like you, independent and strong."

"Kahit hindi marunong magluto?"

"I'll teach them."

"Paano kung hindi pumayag yung nanay na maging katulad ko?"

"Bakit hindi ka papayag? 

"Ha?"

"Ha?"

They look at each other and both let out a rambunctious laugh.
