"Never assume that loud is strong and quiet is weak."

Thank you for indulging this wanna-be writer and letting her know that it's okay to try because you'll never know you might write something as long as this one.

Dei was seated a few tables in front of Valerie and company, her back facing them.

The three were whispering as not to attract attention from other patrons who were eating.

Valerie: Ma, Bakit parating ganyan ang suot niya, white shirt?

Teresa: Baka hindi pa nabibilhan ni Richard

They both laugh

Aurora: Baka naman yan lang ang afford niya.

The three of them laugh again.

They saw that Dei ordered a tasting menu as well.

Aurora: I wonder where she gets the audacity to spend Richard's money in a place like this. I'm sure she can't afford it on her own. It's 300 dollars per head. I doubt where she gets the money.

Valerie: Baka naman, Ninang she's stealing from Richard.

Teresa: Grabe no? Hindi na nahiya no? Such social climbers.

Teresa shakes her head.

Valerie sees a wait staff approaching and she extends her leg. The wait staff trips a little and some of the liquor he was carrying fell on Dei's pants. They attracted attention from the guests.

Valerie smiles wickedly.

The wait staff apologizes profusely. The restaurant manager comes and apologizes, they overhear him saying that this has never happened before. Dei was very gracious. She just asks to put a hold on her food so that she can clean up in the washroom.

The rest of the tasting went well and without a hitch. Valerie was still smiling widely, very proud of herself.

Guests started leaving and complimenting the chef for a job well done. Valerie didn't want to leave until Dei had. There were only four occupied tables in the room, including Valerie's.

Valerie sees a wait staff bring Dei a slice of what seems to be a decadent chocolate cake. Valerie calls the wait staff and asks if she could have a cake, too. The wait staff says that they have run out of cakes and it was a special case for the lady at the other table, it was compliments of the chef. This irks Valerie.

Teresa: Valerie, Let's go? I've settled the bill na. Sana huwag makita ng dad mo ang bill.

Valerie: Wait lang, Ma. I want to see where this girl is going to next. Para I can embarrass her.

Aurora: Oo nga, who does she think she is?

They see Dei signing a credit card charge slip and leaving a 50 dollar tip.

Aurora: Ang yabang naman nito.

Teresa: Extension lang ni Richard yan. I wonder if his parents know na someone's spending their son's money.

Dei stands up and walks out, the three bow their heads to try to hide. They then try follow Dei.

Valerie pokes her mother: Ma, di ba parang ganyan yung gusto mo na bag?

Teresa: Which one? The Valentino Black Tote?

Valerie nods

Aurora: Baka Class A lang yan. You know social climbers can't afford a 3500 usd bag
