Sandra couldn't stop looking at Amanda's photo on the table next to the couch in the living room. Amanda was such an amazing child. Amanda was very perceptive. She always seemed to know when something was wrong. She knew when her father would come home from work and she would always run to the door so she could hug his knees. She even knew how to hum songs that were playing on the radio. Amanda was a unique child and Sandra was absolutely smitten with her. Amanda really liked being outdoors. It was because of the location where the house was located. It was in a quiet neighborhood and it was the last house on the street. After the Carlsons's house there was no more road, but there was a trail that lead to a small area that had a lot of bushes. It was like a mini version of a forest. On numerous occasions deer and rabbits would pass by the house and Amanda always liked to see them. She would usually watch them through the living room window.

"Look mommy, the deer are here again." Amanda exclaimed when she was watching them.

"I see that sweetie." Sandra said while she was walking to stand beside Amanda by the window.

"Can we go see them? Please?" Amanda asked.

"Honey, if we go outside we will scare them off." Sandra explained.

"I just want to pet them. What about if the bunny comes back? Can I pet him?" Amanda pleaded to Sandra. She did her infamous puppy-dog eyes. How can you say no to that face? No one could do it. It was Amanda's secret weapon and at almost four years old she definitely knew how to use it. Sandra was in awe of her daughter.

"Sure, honey. Next time, I promise." Amanda said.

The front door opened. Robert walked in carrying his work portfolio. It still amazed Sandra how handsome he looked in a suit. He really exuded class and elegance. He put his portfolio on the table in the living room. "How was your day honey?" Sandra asked. "It was fine. My department has to come up with a new cover for the next issue of Life. It's just work and I don't want to talk about that. How was your and Amanda's day?" Robert asked as he looked over Amanda who was still standing next to the window.
