Amanda was sitting on her bed and she was sketching a dress in her sketchbook that her mom bought her last year for her birthday. All the years she has spent with Elizabeth eventually inspired Amanda to become very interested in fashion. Her dream was to design clothes for models and celebrities. But it was just a dream, right? Amanda's mom thought it was just a hobby for her because of all the time she spent with Elizabeth when she was little.

Amanda ripped the page from the sketchbook and threw it on the floor. The pile of papers was starting to build on the floor. Sandra entered the room and saw all the papers.

"Amanda, why are there so many papers by your bed?" Sandra asked.

Amanda was not looking up at her mom while she was still drawing. "They're not perfect. That's why they are on the floor. I think now I have finally drawn the perfect outfit." Amanda declared as she showed the drawing to Sandra.

Sandra was surprised. Amanda was very talented. The dress looked so pretty. How could a 13 year old come up with this? "Amanda this is amazing. How did you come up with this idea?"

"I've been looking through all the magazines Elizabeth keeps sending me. I just felt so inspired today and I felt like drawing." Amanda explained while she looked at her drawing. "This is what I want to do someday as a job."

Sandra smiled at Amanda. "Honey, you are so determined, but you're only 13. You have to be realistic and practical. You need to find a steady job when you get older. This is just a dream."

"No, this is what I want to do." Amanda said. Why couldn't her mom understand that this is what she wanted to do with her life?

Sandra felt bad about what she said to Amanda. "I'm sorry honey, it's just that I struggled when it came to finding work, and I don't want to see you struggle too. I just want you to find something that will make you happy."

"It will happen. I even read in a magazine about a fashion school in Boston that is considered to be the best of the best." Amanda explained.

"Honey, you've been determined as long as I've known you. You still amaze me. How can you be such a perfect child?" Sandra said while she looked around Amanda's room. The walls were covered with posters of dresses, fashion models, and also rock bands. The last one is thanks to Steven's interest in music. Amanda once told her mom that her dad really opened her eyes when it comes to music. She's always discovering new bands. Her walls were pretty much covered with posters.
