Duff

The band just finished performing Paradise City at the Monsters of Rock Festival at Donington. It was the biggest rock festival: six rock bands and two solo artists performed. It was a great experience for Duff and his band. Unfortunately there was a very tragic incident that occurred during the festival: two young men were crushed to death in the audience. They were close to the stage and the crowd just kept jumping up and down. The band was yelling at the audience to stop it, but no one could hear from all the noise. Duff couldn't believe how something like this could happen. Music was supposed to bring people together. It wasn't supposed to result in death. The festival was over and the band was heading back to their hotel.

I just entered my room at the hotel and sat down on the couch. I was tired physically and emotionally. The death of the two fans really got to me. Is it weird to feel like I've killed them? I didn't physically crush them to their death. I can't explain it. I wish Amanda was with me so she could cheer me up. She's back home in California. She couldn't go on this tour with me. Her company would have been nice, but I understand her circumstances. She's got school and her job. She can't just leave them and go with me. Plus, her parents have not been the biggest fans of mine, correction: her mom wasn't. They wouldn't let her go with me to another country. I can't really blame them because even my own family wasn't too happy when I left Seattle and moved to Los Angeles.

Duff was relaxing on the couch. He was laying down and looking at the ceiling. He was missing Amanda. He never thought that would happen to him. How could such a sweet girl like her be interested in him? She was so innocent, kind, beautiful, and smart. She was nothing like the groupies that were usually around the band. He thought that she would have turned him down after he asked for her phone number the first night they met at the Troubadour. He sat up and opened his wallet and took out the photo of him and Amanda that was taken by Izzy when the band was at the Troubadour one evening after band rehearsal. He smiled at the photo. He felt happy whenever Amanda was with him.Another reason why he was smilingat the photo was because after they left the Troubadour, he and Amanda had their most intense make-out sessionever since they started dating at her bedroom. Actually that make-out session which eventually turned into sex. Her parents were out on their usual once-a-week date. He didn't pressure her to have sex, but there was just so much sexual tension between the two of them and they both had to relieve it somehow.
