Amanda

I just got done with my shift at the Merry Go Round. Since I don't have school anymore, I have been working the morning shift from 8am-4pm. I liked this shift way more than my old shift. I miss Duff. We have been inseparable since we started dating and I've been missing him so much. Just one more day to go and he'll be back. I can't wait to see him.

I got in my car and I drove to my house. I parked my car in the driveway. I locked the car and approached the front door of the house. I unlocked the door and the house was quiet. My parents were still at work at the accounting office.

I'm so relieved they didn't find out about the night when Duff and I had sex for the first time. My mom definitely didn't like him. She thought that he was a bad influence on me. He's been nothing but sweet since I met him. My dad was a bit more accepting when it comes to Duff. I asked my dad why was he more accepting of Duff than my mom one evening. He told me that when he was in high school he dated a girl that his parents didn't approve of and they forbade him from seeing her. He really liked her, so he would sneak out of his house just so they could see each other every night even if it was just for a few minutes. He told me that he didn't want to repeat his parents' mistakes, so that is why he is more open-minded than my mom.

Duff had left just a few minutes before my parents arrived back from their date. They never doubted me for a second when they arrived at the house. Everything seemed normal to them.

I opened the refrigerator and found spaghetti that was placed in Tupperware. It was the leftovers from last night's dinner. I put the spaghetti in the microwave for two minutes so they could heat up. I found a can of Sprite to go along with my dinner. I went to sit on the living room couch and turned on the TV. I changed the channel until I found MTV. Martha Quinn was announcing the countdown for the best top 10 songs of 1988. She's my favorite MTV VJ. I was listening to her talk when the phone rang.

"Hello." Amanda picked up the phone.

"I'm coming over in five minutes. Something amazing will be shown on the Oprah Winfrey Show." Hannah declared.

"Hi, Amanda. How was your day? How are you?" I sarcastically said to her. Sometimes it was hard to get a word in when you were in a conversation with Hannah. "Sure, come on over. I just got back from work and I'm bored. I feel like we haven't hung out in forever." I said to Hannah. I feel bad that I've been neglecting her lately. I guess I've been so consumed with Duff that I accidentally pushed Hannah to the side.

"Of course we haven't. Loverboy has been keeping you all to himself." Hannah replied.

"Don't be like that. He's my first boyfriend. I really like him." Amanda tried to reason with Hannah.

"Don't sweat it. I'm just messing with you." Hannah could definitely surprise you when she felt like it.

"See you soon." Amanda said.

"See you." Hannah said. She hung up.

Five minutes later there was a knock on the door. I got up to answer the door. I opened the door and Hannah was there. She had the biggest grin on her face.
