4 months later

Steven Johnson and Sandra Carlson were "dating." It's hard to technically call it dating if they sit in their usual booth whenever Sandra has taken her lunch break and Steven is there for his lunch break. Whatever you want to label it, they were definitely dating. It was nice to talk to someone who was in the same boat as her. They were two people who were in supposedly great relationships with their significant others and both ended in divorce. Was it a sign that they were destined to meet? Whatever it was, Sandra was very glad to have met Steven Johnson.

Sandra was cleaning the table that was just vacated by the customers who walked out of the diner about ten minutes ago. She was cleaning it and the stains were still there. What did these people do? Sandra thought. She continued to scrub the table and the stains were barely pale.

"I'll take care of it, Sandra. You can go on your break." Anna said. She was a high school student who started working about two months ago.

"It's fine, Anna. They will go away somehow." Sandra was starting to feel frustrated.

"Listen, let me do it. Trust me. You're going to want to take your break now because Mr. Handsome just walked in." Anna said while she tilted her head to the direction where Steven came from. Sandra looked over Anna's shoulder and Steven had just walked in to his usual booth. Sandra smiled when she saw him sit down. I guess he's really serious about us, Sandra thought while she walked over to where he was sitting.

"Hello Sandra, how are you?" Steven smiled at Sandra.

Sandra smiled back. "I'm fine Steven. How are you?"

"I'm doing great now that I'm here." He replied while he leaned back in the booth.

"Do you want coffee?" Sandra asked.

Steven shook his head. "Not today. I want to try something different from the menu."

Sandra was holding in her hand her notepad for her orders and she was ready to write with her pencil. "Okay, what would you like?"

"I would like for you to sit down so we can continue where we left off the last time in our discussion. I will order something to eat, but you are not going to be the one to serve my food. Get someone else to do it." Steven explained his plan. He sounded very serious. Sandra didn't know what to say. She was speechless.

"All right, I'll be right back." Sandra stuttered. What is going on with Steven? Sandra walked back to a booth that Holly was sitting at. Holly was reading a newspaper and she was wearing her reading glasses. She took them off when she saw Sandra approaching.

"Holly, I have a strange request. Don't laugh please." Sandra pleaded.

Holly tried to be serious. "Yes, Sandra?"
