Rileys POV:
Im at school hanging around the lockers with Michelle and my other friend Amanda. James is talking to a group of boys.
I cant help but glance over at him talking and laughing.
'Why are you staring at James?' Amanda asks.
I snap out of my trance.
'What?'
'Your staring at James. Why?'
'No Im not'
'Do you like him?'
'Hes my friend'
'You know what I mean'
'We're just friends. Thats all its ever going to be'
'But do you like him?'
'No! Hes just my friend!'
They smile.
'Okay'
James comes over.
'What are you guyes talking about?'
'Nothing' I say, trying to forget about the conversation.
He shrugs.
John, who is one of James friends, and who Michelle has a huge crush on approaches us.
'Hey Michelle' he smiles.
'Hey' she says shyly.
'I was wondering if um...you wanted to see a movie with me tonight?'
'You mean like a date?'
He shrugs.
She smiles.
'Id love to!'
'Really?'
'Yeah! Oh. Can two more people come along?'
'I guess. Who?'
She looks at me and smiles.
'James and Riley'
'WHAT!' me and James say together.
John smiles.
'Of course!'
Me and James look at eachother in shock.
'Well Im afraid I have to baby sit Piper tonight so I cant go' James says.
'See! He cant come! If he cant go then I cant!' I say desperatly trying to get out of this.
Its not that me and James dont want to go, its just we're both thinking the same thing.
Loads of people think we have a thing for eachother so if we go together, everyone will think we're dating, when we're only friends.
'Sorry James. I dont believe that. You and Riley are comming tonight. And dress up fancy. After all it is a double date'
'But we arent datimg! We're just friends!' I tell her.
'I dont care! Theres something between you and by the end of tonight youll be all over eachother'
'Michelle!'
She laughs.
'See you tonight Jiley!'
They leave leaving me and James alone looking at eachother.
'Please tell me you have a gun or something to shoot me now' I say.
He smiles.
'Sorry Ri. I dont'
'People are now going to think we're dating!'
He sighs.
'I know. But it might be fun! It is the movies after all and you cant refuse a good movie!'
I smile.
'Okay fine'
He puts an arm around me.
'It will be fun! Trust me! Dont even worry about it!'
I laugh.
This 'double date' could end terribly. But James is right. It could be fun.
We'll just have to wait and see!
