Chapter 23 ~ Missing costumes

James POV:
I wake up and see Riley asleep next to me. I smile.
I check the time and realise we have dance today. I shake her.
'Riley. Wake up'
She stirs and opens her eyes.
'What?'
'We have dance today. We gotta get ready or we'll be late'
She groans and gets up. We get dressed and go downstairs. We see Kevin and Tori in the the kitchen making out. I smile at Riley and signal to her to be quiet. We sneak in and lean against the top. It takes them five minutes before they realise we're standing there.
'Mooorrrning' I smile.
Tori blushes.
'How long have you been there?' Kevin asks.
'Long enough' Riley smiles.
'Why are you up so early?'
'We have dance practice'
'Oh. Um...we gotta go' Kevin says pulling Tori out of the kitchen.
We laugh.
'Well thats a nice sight first thing in the morning' Riley laughs.
'Tell me about it!'
We get ready and leave. We go into the studio and see everyone hanging around looking kinnda glum. Kate is with them.
'Whats up guyes?' I ask.
'Theres been a slight mixup with the regionals costumes' Kate says.
'What?'
She points to a set of boxes. We look at them.
'These arent our costumes. There lion outfits!' Riley says.
'Our costumes are in Arkensaw' Kate says.
Me and Riley look at eachother.
'Kate! Regionals are in two weeks!'
'Yes I know'
'Guyes. What are you all so stressed out about?' I ask.
They look at me.
'James. Incase it hasnt dawned in you the costumes arent here!' Riley tells me.
'I know that. But has anyone thought about the costume in studio B?'
They smile.
'I guess you could try' Kate says.
'Lets go guyes!'
They all get up and run off. Riley smiles at me.
'I never thought youd come out with something so usefull'
I smile and kiss her.
We go into the costume closet.
'Im sure we can find something in here' Emily says.
Emily always leaves before us to get to the studio. Ill never know why.
'What about this?' West says putting on an astronot outfit.
'No. Definatly not!'
'Yeah. Maby your right'
We all try different outfits but none of them work. We put them away.
'So much for that'
'Juice anyone?'
We nod and go to the juice bar. We get our juice and go back to studio A with it.
We sit down on the floor in silence.
'Hey Riley. We heard about your recent impact with Jess at school the other day' Chloe smiles.
Riley smiles.
'Yeah. It was crazy. But it felt good'
'It should have felt good. I mean shes such a snob!' West says.
We laugh.
Kate comes over to us.
'Dont worry about the costumes guyes. Ill figure something out'
We nod and stand up.
'You guyes need to focus on Regionals okay?'
'Kates right. If we just sit here worring about something that isnt going to appear and not focus on whats most important, then we wont even make it past the first round of Regionals' Emily says.
We nod in agreement.
'Weve all come here to dance. So thats what were going to do' Emily tells us.
'Yeah guyes! Emily is right! Just because we dont have our costumes yet, doesnt mean we cant dance. We're the next step! We're a team and always will be. So lets do what we do best and dance! Right!' Michelle says.
'Yeah!' we all cheer.
'Allright!'
The music starts and we begin our dance.
Costumes or no costumes, we are going to regionals and winning. No matter what.
