Chapter 17 ~ Date

Rileys POV:
I feel really bad about what happened between me and James. I just hope I can make things better.
I see him leaning against the lockers talking to Eldon and West. I go over to them.
'Hey guyes'
West and Eldom smile but James keeps his head down.
'See you later' they say walking off leaving me and James alone.
He keeps quiet.
'Can we talk?' I ask.
'I guess. Im still here amnt I? Or do you want to tell me to leave you alone again'
I sigh.
'James Im sorry. I didnt mean to act like that. Its just theres so much on my mind and-'
'Really? Theres so much on your mind? Then tell me if Im on your mind. If your thinking about how I might feel or others might feel when you give out to them when they did nothing wrong'
I put my head down.
'James I dont want things to be akward between us and I just want us to be truthfull with eachother'
'Well your doing a great job at that arent you!'
'Your not making this any easier!'
'Well neither are you! You wont even tell me whats going on with you!'
'Im sorry okay! Its just too early! I cant tell you now!'
I take his hands.
'Please James'
He pulls them away and looks at me. He shakes his head and walks off.
'Where are you going!'
'To think!'
He leaves.
I put my head down.
Michelle comes over to me.
'Its okay. Just give him time. This isnt easy for him. Hes new at this'
I nod.
'I know. I just keep messing everything up'
'You know he cares about you? Right?'
I nod.
'Well maby hes not sure if you care too. I mean hes stood by you through everything'
'What do I do?'
'I dont know. Do something special for him. Like a surprise date or something'
I nod.
Michelle is right. I need to show him how much he really means to me.
'Thanks Michelle'
'What are best friends for?'
I smile and hug her.
Im going to make this the best date ever.
