"Hey, Hunter?" Lydia speaks after a few minutes of silence.
"Hm?"
"How come you didn't go to the party? Everyone was there. Vanessa, Blake, Chris, Jade. Me too! I was there, y'know?" She looks over at him.
"No, Lydia, I didn't know you were at the party." He chuckles while biting back a smile.
"Well, I was. You should of went. It was awesome!"
"What did you do?" He asks curiously.
"I played beer pong." She states, nodding once. "Eight times. And lost each time."
I chuckle quietly and I see Hunter glance back at me.
"Bella didn't want to go." She states and Hunter looks back at her.
"And why is that?"
I roll my eyes before Lydia answers. "Because she's a fun sponge!"
"I am not!" I defend.
"She doesn't do parties." She states matter-of-factly. "But I do. So I have to go to them by myself."
"Lydia, you've only been to two parties in your life."
"So? That's more than you've ever been."
"Again congratulations."
"ANYWAYS! All Bella likes to do is read and do homework. Which is so boring!'
I kick her seat, "Shut up, you drunk shit head."
"Aye, don't kick the seat," Hunter calls to me.
I roll my eyes again and cross my arms over my chest. "So Hunter?" Lydia continues to talk. "Why didn't you go the party?"
"Didn't want to." He shrugs, his eyes flickering over to me.
I'll kill you.
"I had other plans." He tells her.
"What other plans?"
"Breaking into my house," I mumble.
"You broke into Bella's house?" Lydia gasps dramatically. He nods slowly, a small smile appearing on his lips. "That sounds like fun. I want to do that! Bella, can we do that?"
"No. When we get home you're going to bed."
"UGH! See! She's a fucking fun sponge." Lydia hits Hunter's arm and points back at me. "She's sucking up all the fun. Like a fucking SPONGE!"
"Lydia, shut up."
"Hunter?" OH, MY GOD!
"Yes, Lydia?" He tries not to laugh.
"Did you know that Vanessa talked to me today?" She looks at him seriously. I feel my heart drop as I watch Hunter's reaction.
He furrows his brows, "No, Lydia, I didn't. Doesn't she talk to you guys every day?" He chuckles dryly.
"Nope." She pops the 'p'. "Not since last year. Y'know the group drifted apart. Like all the continents. Hey, Bella," She giggles while turning around to face me, "we're like continents. I want to be Paris."
"Paris isn't a continent, Lydia," I tell her.
"Oh." She turns back around, slightly pouting.
"Why doesn't she talk to you anymore?" Hunter asks more curiously this time. There's a crease in the middle of his forehead.
"Mmm," Lydia shrugs her shoulders. "You left."
The crease remains as he looks ahead and his brows stay furrowed. His eyes flicker to the rear view mirror and mine meet his. I quickly look down at my lap.
