Lydia stares at me with wide eyes as she sits on her bed. Her hands are folded beneath her chin and her elbows are propped up under her.

I sit across from her on a bean bag with a bowl of ice cream in my lap. I take another bite and drop my spoon into the bowl.

Her eyes meet mine and she opens her mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. I stand up and place the empty bowl on her dresser.

"So... You're meaning to tell me..." She whispers and I give her my full attention. "You found out that you're adopted... So you came home... And broke everything in the house... Then you told Hunter that you didn't mean it when you told him that you don't love him, which you never told me you said that to him," she glares at me and I sit back down on the bean bag. "Then he stayed the night and you guys spent all today together, watching Stranger Things and making out."

"We also had dinner at his house," I add and she raises a brow.

"And then he saw you in your bra."

"Yeah." My cheeks begin heat up as I remember the look on his face when I was putting his sweater on. "And he bought me a necklace." I grasp the small lock sitting on my chest.

Lydia quickly gets up and sits on my lap. She holds up the lock and smiles down at it. "What did you get him?" She asks.

"N-Nothing yet."

"What!?" She snaps.

"Lydia, did you not hear the part about me being adopted?"

"Yeah, I heard it." She deadpans. "But you've already spent the day crying about it and I'm not going to make you cry anymore. I'm your best friend and my job is to make you smile, not cry."

I smirk at craziness and she grins. "What are you planning on getting him?"

"I don't know. I found out that he really likes Stranger Things. Not as much as I do, of course."

"Maybe you should get him something sports related." She suggests with a raised brow.

"I don't know," I run my hands through my hair. "He's a difficult person to shop for. Always has been."

"Anyways," I sigh heavily and her brows raise, "have you talked James ever since Wednesday?"

Her cheeks instantly turn red and her eyes widen. "Y-Yes."

"And..?"

"And... I don't know. We talk every day."

"About what?"

"Everything basically."

For the rest of the night, Lydia and I decide on binge watching Teen Wolf until our eyes fall out. "Let's go get something to eat." Lydia suggests around one AM.

We make our way upstairs, her room being in the basement, and into the kitchen. As she's searching through the pantries, I sit on the counter while looking at my phone. I have two calls from Tiana, one from Ted, and a few text messages from Vanessa.

Nessa: we're still on for New Years right?

Nessa: hellooooo?

Nessa: Merry Christmassss!

I look up at Lydia when she opens the fridge and the light illuminates the kitchen. "Hey, Lyd?"

She looks over me with furrowed brows, "Huh?"

"Merry Christmas." I smile.

"Merry Christmas, Bella." She smiles back.

I glance down at my phone when it begins vibrating. "Who's calling?" She asks.
