I grab my duffel out of the backseat and sling it over my shoulder. Cam comes around to my side of the car with a sad look. "Hey." I bump him and he looks up at me.

"We're going to be fine. It's only for a couple days. And there's free food."

"And evil step-siblings." He states.

I can't disagree.

"True. And an evil stepmother. But he has a pool. And it's a nice pool." I tell him which makes him smile. "Come on. It's freezing out here and I'm hungry."

He nods slowly before following me across the street. When we get to the door, both Cam and I exchange a similar expression. I raise my fist to the door and knock twice.

Nobody answers. I look down at Cam who's already looking at me. I raise a brow at him and he bangs his fist against the door. "Cam!" I hiss.

He shrugs before standing in his previous position. We both snap our heads towards the door when it opens. Linda, my stepmom, grins at us widely, her white teeth shining.

"Bella! Cam!" She rushes out and hugs me, her plastic boobs digging into my chest.

"Ow," I whine quietly and Cam laughs. She lets go of me and hugs Cam.

"Oh! We've missed you guys so much! We haven't seen you in forever!!"

"Yeah... We missed you too." I say.

"Well, come in! Come in!" She holds the door open for us. When we walk inside, I instantly look around. If you'd walk into the house, the first thing you'd notice is that everything in this house is white. Like, everything.

The floor, the furniture, the carpets, the walls, the stairs. Everything!

"Where's dad?" I ask.

"Oh, Ted is at the office, finishing up work so that he doesn't have to work while you're here." She smiles.

I nod slowly. "We should go put our stuff in the guest room, then," I say to avoid the awkward conversation.

"Oh! Speaking of the guest room, we turned the guest room into a bedroom for you, Bella. And Cam, we turned the basement into your own personal 'Bat Cave'." She shakes her hands magically.

Cam's eyes light up instantly. "Really!?" He nearly screams.

"Yes! Let me show you! You know the way to the guest room- Uh, I mean your room." She smiles widely. I nod at her, faking a smile. She grins at Cam before telling him to follow her. He doesn't spare a second glance at me since he's too excited to see his room.

I head upstairs and down the hall to the guest room. When I open the door, my eyes widen.

IT'S NOT COMPLETELY WHITE!

This bedroom though is completely different from mine back at home. The walls are painted white, with fairy lights hanging from the ceiling.

In the middle of the room is a king sized bed with a dark wood bed frame. It has a plain white comforter and a billion light blue and lilac pillows on top.

Next to the bed is a dark wood dresser with a few magazines, candles, and a jewelry box on it. On the wall behind the dresser is a small mirror.

On the right walk are two balcony doors that show a view of the backyard, which is huge. On either side of the doors are purple floor lamps. There's a giant floral carpet covering the ground with a rainbow of flowers.

I set my bag down on the bed while looking around the room. I can't believe they actually gave me a room. I'm never here so why would they give me a room?
