Being the gentleman that he is, Charlie agreed to be my date to the Ascendant ball. But I made it very clear that I was only asking him as my friend. He obviously already knew that I was still in love with Hunter from my confession in his car.
After school ended, the snow was up to my knees. Teachers and security guards had been shoveling snow out of the parking lot so that all of us could get home.
When I got home, I told mom that I would be going with Charlie. Which gave her really bad whiplash.
"Why not Hunter?" She asks abruptly and Cam's head snaps towards us.
Did I ever mention to him that the bastard came back? I don't think so...
"Hunter and I aren't on good terms." I stayed eyeing Cam. "We're not speaking and I don't think I'll ever speak to him again."
"Bella? What happened?" Mom asks.
Cam's eyes meet mine, "Hunter came back? When?" He shouts at me in disbelief.
"A couple days ago." I mumble.
"And you guys didn't tell me?" He stands up from the couch. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
He's actually mad...
"Cam-"
He glares harshly at me before running towards the stairs and up to his room. I groan softly before turning back to mom. "What was that?" She asks.
"Forget about it. I'm not going with Hunter. I'm going with Charlie. End of discussion. I'm going and that's all that should matter."
She sighs heavily before nodding. "Alright."

On Friday, Lydia came over early so that she could 'get me ready for school' but just complained about Blake.
"I asked him to the ball." She states, her voice coming out muffled since she has her face pressed against the pillow.
"And what did he say?" I ask as I search for something warm to wear.
"He already has a date."
"Who?" I ask abruptly.
"He didn't say." She rolls over onto her back and stares up at the ceiling. "But she has to be cuter than me if he decided to shoot me down. Maybe I can try to find that guy I lost my virginity to."
My head snaps over to her and I stare at her with wide eyes. "What?"
"You know, the hot guy."
"How the hell are you supposed to find him?!"
She shrugs her shoulders, "Or you and I could just go together."
"You forbade that, remember?" I raise a brow at her.
"Shut up."
"Plus, I already have a date." I say while pulling out a red sweater. I yank my t-shirt over my head and toss it into the ground before pulling the sweater on.
"Who?"
"Do remember last summer how we'd go ice skating?" I turn to her and watch as her brows furrow.
"Yeah?"
"Do remember Charlie?"
Her eyes widen and she quickly leans up. "Charlie Halloway?" She shouts.
"Yes." I nod. "He knows we're only going as friends." I tell her before pulling on a pair of grey sweatpants.
"What did mom say?"
