Kagami walked into the apartment he shared with Kuroko. It had been a long day in classes. It was their last year of college and he couldn't wait to be done. He was studying English, as well as a couple other languages, at a university in Tokyo. While he liked it well enough, he knew there wasn't much he could do with a degree like this besides teach.
He let out a heavy sigh and threw his bag on the floor as he walked into the living room and collapsed on the couch.
"Kagami-kun."
Kagami sat bolt upright, looking around until he found Kuroko standing over him. "Stop sneaking up on me, it's disturbing."
"I'm sorry, I thought you saw me when you walked in," Kuroko smiled a little, it looked like he was trying hard not to laugh.
Kagami rolled his eyes, leaning back against the couch, trying to stop his heart from pounding, "What do you want, Kuroko?"
Kuroko stared at Kagami for a moment, jaw clamping shut. Kagami looked at him with an eyebrow raised. Finally, Kuroko said, "Can you promise to do something for me?"
"Tell me what it is first and I probably can," Kagami knew Kuroko was often reserved and didn't say things clearly, but Kagami couldn't make promises that he didn't know if he could keep.
"Alright..." Kuroko was still hesitant to say anything more, but he finally said, "I need you to do an interview for me."
"What?" Kagami couldn't help raising his voice a little. Kuroko was the journalism student, he was the one writing entertainment articles for the university newspaper.
"You don't have to write the article, I just need you to go and ask the questions for me," Kuroko smiled ever so faintly, "Please?"
Kagami narrowed his eyes at Kuroko, "Why can't you do it again?"
"The interview is during a test I have and I can't get out of. And I can't change the date, it took me months just to get this time," Kuroko moved a little closer to Kagami, "I'll list your name on the article too since you'll have done the interview."
"I don't care about my name in the paper," Kagami folded his arms, looking away from Kuroko, "How am I supposed to know how to interview someone? Who is it supposed to be anyways?"
Kuroko smiled deviously, "I won't tell you unless you agree to do the interview."
"Kuroko..." Kagami rolled his eyes, Kuroko wasn't usually so underhanded as he was now.
In a softer tone, Kuroko added, "You're the only one I trust to do this for me. Please?"
Kagami bit his lip. Why did Kuroko have to say that? He was Kuroko's best friend and usually always happy when Kuroko came to him for help. And with Kuroko asking like that, Kagami felt so heartless if he refused. "Fine. I'll do the damn interview, when is it and who's it with?"
Kuroko faintly smiled, a chuckle in his voice, "Aomine Daiki."
[AN: what do you think of the start of this? 😉 it's going to get smexy later on, don't you worry! I'm going to attempt to have this follow vaguely along the lines of the original (but I've only read the synopsis so I'm going to end up doing it my way) I hope you like it and do tell me if you want more!]
