He followed Aomine to a fancy, yet intimate café near the hotel. It was another place where Kagami felt so out of place. It may have been a cafe, but many of the patrons were finely dressed and looked just as business-y as Aomine did.
Aomine didn't seem to care though, he walked over to a table, sitting down and waiting for Kagami to sit across from him. He waved over a barista even though they should've joined the line in front of the counter. He didn't take his eyes off Kagami as he told the barista their order, "One black coffee and one strawberry Frappuccino."
The barista nodded and walked back behind the counter. Kagami stared over at Aomine. "Y-you didn't have to get anything for me..." Aomine sat back in his chair, looking at Kagami with a slight smirk on his face. Kagami gulped, adding, "Um... how did you know... I would like a strawberry Frappuccino?"
Aomine let out a laugh. It was short and low but it was so musical to Kagami. "Your shirt. It has a happy strawberry emoji on it."
Kagami's face reddened. He glanced away, pulling his hoodie together to cover his T-shirt. "You really notice a lot of things..."
"I do." Aomine's response was short, making Kagami look back at him. Aomine's expression was flat as he said, "I notice your reaction to me." He narrowed his eyes and leaned forward. "Like I noticed how you and that photographer were reacting to each other earlier."
Kagami's eyes widened, he couldn't stop staring at Aomine. He had noticed that Kagami was always flustered around him? What did that mean Aomine noticed about him and Kise? He swallowed. "Aomine-san..."
"Are you dating him?"
"Dating Kise?" Kagami couldn't help laughing at the question. He had never thought of Kise in a remotely romantic way. "No, he's just an annoying friend."
"Hmm." Aomine leaned back in his seat, not breaking Kagami's eye contact.
The barista came over to their table with their drinks. Kagami jumped a little. He wasn't used to actually getting service in a cafe like this. Aomine really did have a commanding presence. He took the strawberry Frappuccino from the barista trying to focus on the drink instead of Aomine staring at him. But his face still heated up a bit when he took a sip. It was almost too embarrassing to admit that he really did like strawberries.
He set the drink down, clearing his throat. He looked over at Aomine who hadn't even touched the coffee sitting on the table between them. Kagami tried to laugh as he said, "Why do you, a VIP member of girl of the month club, care who I might or might not be dating?" Kagami cursed himself under his breath for basically confirming Aomine's guess that he was gay.
Aomine smirked, remaining quiet for a moment. He just shrugged. "It's important information."
Kagami's face turned redder. He tried to hide it by picking up the strawberry Frappuccino again. "And what about you? Any special girl this month?"
"There's no one that I'm seeing." Aomine's response was so direct, Kagami almost didn't believe him. "I don't do romance."
"Love them and leave them, right?" Kagami's throat felt tight as he forced out the words. He had no experience in the area, but he felt like Aomine had too much experience.
