Castiel nervously got out of his 1989 chevy truck. He was headed to the first big frat party he was going to be at as a junior in college. So what if he isn't of age just quite yet? 20 is close enough to 21. Right? Castiel shakily approached the door of the Delta house which was already screaming with music and tipsy people. Castiel always wondered why humans liked getting drunk so much. He could only get drunk off of chugging an entire bottle of jack or captain. But he entered the house anyway to socialize. Or at least thats what he told himself. Real reason he went was to spot out the other gay men that were new or recently out of the closet. He was out to everyone but his family. He didn't know how they would take it. But he was out to his classmates and proud of it. He loved himself the way he was. And nothing would change that.
Dean hit his head on the roof as he awkwardly stepped out of the 1967 chevy impala. Thankfully no one saw and he meandered his way toward the blaring house. Jesus was he nervous as all hell. Being a sophomore that switched colleges during summer for no true reason, he didn't quite know how these other people would react to him being, he shuddered at the thought of admitting it to himself, gay. Dean knocked on the already open door and walked inside. Immediately he spotted what he assumed to be another gay man. He was scruffy looking and chugging jack daniels from the bottle. It was about half empty but he didn't know how much there was when he started. Probably not much fuller than it was now considering the mans weight.
Castiel chugged the handle of jack until it was gone. He didn't realize that feet away from him was the person that he would fall in love with. Castiel can feel himself getting drunk and he stumbles over to the couch where there is a few frat boys sitting. One of them turns to him.
"Hey dude," Sam said.
"What?" Castiel replied, he could hear the anxiety in his voice. He hoped this man could not.
"Truth or dare."
"Dare obviously, what idiot picks truth?"
"I dare you and that guy over there," Sam pointed to his brother, Dean. "to pretend you are dating for an entire month. And whoever falls in love first, loses."
Dean started making his way over. Slowly though because it was hard to walk when the room was spinning in circles. Who knew 6 shots could mess up a guy this badly? He didn't. Obviously.
"Hey Dean!" Sam yelled to his conspicously drunk big brother.
"What?" Dean slurred back.
"You and this fine young man here, ya'll gonna pretend you're dating for a month and whoever falls in love first loses. You up for it?"
"Being drunk i say yes, being sober, i don't know but that doesn't matter because i'm drunk."
"Well seeing as you two are gonna be love birds for the next month, you should probably know each others names and that stuff."
"I'm Castiel," Castiel shyly said to the handsome man standing not inches from him.
"I'm Dean Winchester," Dean confidently said back. "What's your last name?"
"I don't have one."
"How don't you have a last name?"
"I just don't, was never given one."
Dean and Castiel continued talking over the next hour or two. Telling each other about their majors and ages and everything else people talked about at frat parties. Dean was studying to become a mechanic. Castiel was studying in communications since normally he was quite the chatty kathy but Dean made him become mush inside. Dean and Castiel were both 20. Dean had graduated early and Castiel graduated on time. Castiel may have left out the fact that he wasn't exactly human, but that didn't matter right now.
Dean could see it in Castiels eyes that he wasn't telling him something. Even when drunk, he could read people like a book. He didn't mind though. Hell, they just met today. Er yesterday. Dean realized it was past midnight. Officially saturday, which meant he should probably get going. It's quite late and he wanted plenty of time to get over the nasty hangover he knew he was going to acquire when he woke up.
"Um Castiel i'm gonna get going so do you want to come with me or is that too soon?" Dean questioned.
"Too soon Dean. Try again next year. See you monday babe." Castiel jokingly said.
Castiel walked Dean to his car, then walked to his own unlocking it and getting in. He knew the alcohol hadn't worn off complely but he didn't want to teleport because he wanted to be normal. Or at least try. He carefully took the back roads back to his janky small apartment complex and his even smaller apartment. He stripped down and shut off his light. He couldn't stop thinking about Dean and what he was doing. He didn't know why but he really liked Dean and it was like friendship at first sight. He wondered if he would lose the dare, or bet, or whatever. Castiel then drifted into a deep sleep.(Authors note.)
First time I've done a fanfic or wrote anything for that matter. I know the dates are off from the days of the week that I say they are. Like this year September first is a Friday but last year i think it was a Wednesday or Thursday so if that bothers you I'm sorry. And there will be smut just to warn you. Kinda got inspired by twist and shout mixed with 18 dates but I am trying to make it as original as possible.
