Castiel planned on taking Dean to the Grand Canyon the next day but in order to get there by tomorrow so they needed to leave that day. Castiel was gonna ask Dean if he could drive baby with Dean in shotgun or if Dean wanted Castiel to drive his shitty truck.
"Dean wake up. You gotta pack a bag for the next couple days." Castiel told Dean.
"Okay what should I pack?"
"Light clothes. Very light clothes. I gotta go talk to Sam."
Castiel walked down to where Sam was.
"Sammy you gotta feed the cats while me and Dean are in Arizona okay?" Castiel told Sam.
"Yeah alright. I'll clean the litter tomorrow too." Sam said sleepily.
"Thank you, DEAN YOU READY?"
"YEAH BABE JUST A SEC I NEED MY KEYS."
"IM DRIVING."
"I know but we're still taking baby." Dean said coming down the stairs and tossing Cassy the keys.
Dean didn't know where they were going. He assumed an animal shelter or a fair that was in town. That's the type of thing Castiel liked to do. Dean realized they weren't going to an animal shelter when he saw a sign 7 hours later. Welcome to Arizona. Arizona? Dean was extremely confused. He must have fell asleep because he didn't remember being in the car that long. He must have woke up when a loud song started playing. After all for some reason, let the bodies hit the floor by drowning pool had started playing. Dean didn't know why on earth they would be in Arizona. He had never wanted to go to Arizona. He had never even said anything about Arizona. Nothing is in Arizona.
"Hey Cassy?" Dean asked.
"Yeah baby?" Castiel replied in a question.
"Where are we going?"
"Arizona."
"I see that. Why?"
"Because we're going to the Grand Canyon."
"I thought that was in California."
"Um no? The Grand Canyon has always been in Arizona."
"Huh. Why did I never know that?"
"Don't know. Why did you never look it up?"
"Because I'm a normal person that doesn't spend their life googling where the Grand Canyon is."
"Thanks captain obvious."
Castiel wished Dean would have stayed asleep but then again he was the one that put drowning pool in their road trip playlist. He wanted Dean to be surprised but that was out the window now. Only four hours left. Castiel never understood driving. It was so slow but Castiel would have to drive from now on seeing as how his wings had been taken away by God himself. Castiel figured that they would just find a cheap motel and it didn't matter if it was close to the Grand Canyon or not. As long as it was less than an hour to the Grand Canyon, Castiel didn't care. They arrived at their motel. Blue rose motel. Castiel read in his head. Castiel looked over and saw Dean was asleep. Castiel left the car and went up to the front desk.
"Room for two?" Castiel asked as he handed his credit card to the girl running the desk.
The girl looked out to the impala and saw Dean asleep. "Two queens?"
"Um no. One king will be fine."
"Uhh oh. You're like together?" She asked awkwardly.
"Yes. He's my fiancée."
"Okay well here's your keycard and your receipt."
"Thank you."
Castiel went to grab their bags and let Dean sleep. Castiel knew Dean needed his sleep now and tonight if Castiel was gonna drag him to the Grand Canyon tomorrow.
While Castiel was bringing in their luggage, Dean woke up and saw Cas emerging from the motel door. They were parked right outside room number 9. Dean sleepily got out of his car and looked in the trunk for his luggage but it was gone. He almost panicked until he heard Cas ask if he wanted to go out for dinner.
"Where are my bags?" Dean sternly asked.
"In the room baby. Old style diner or McDonald's?" Castiel asked.
"Old style diner duh. Who do you think I am? A 300 pound dude with an American flag shirt and khaki shorts?"
"Ha ha very funny Dean now come on we need food. Especially you."
Castiel drove over to the diner across the street. He knew he could've walked but he needed Dean to gather his strength for tomorrow so he just drove the tiny fraction of a mile. Castiel found it humorous that there was a seperate parking lot for cars older than the 1970's. Castiel parked there since the impala was 1967. Castiel led Dean inside. Once seated, Castiel ordered a burger and a milkshake.
Dean ordered the same, hoping that his stomach would attempt suicide because of his greasy food of choice and the chocolate deliciousness that was a classic milkshake. Dean tried to eat slower than normal considering he normally ate as fast as possible because he never knew the next time he'd have a meal. His job when he was younger was keeping Sammy fed. He didn't mind if he, himself, skipped a day or two of food as long as Sammy was comfortably full. Dean slowly began to eat his burger and almost choked so he drank some of his milkshake. Dean ate the rest of his burger without complications. Dean then drank his milkshake and by the time he was done he was very tired. It was 8pm by the time he was done eating. That was pretty late for Dean. Dean asked for the bill and Castiel quickly grabbed it from him.
"I took you here, I pay." Castiel explained.
"Cassy I can cover it." Dean retorted.
"Dean it's fine. I'm paying. No take backs."
Castiel really didn't mind paying the bill. As an angel he had snuck into banks and stole the money back from the people who were stealing from the workplace. He knew that wasn't exactly honest but the people who worked there who were stealing still got blamed and rightfully so. Castiel figured it didn't hurt that he stole it and used it for himself. He figured that he was extremely old so he was entitled. That's how he afforded his house. He'd never tell Dean that he was technically a robber unless he specifically asked. Castiel would never lie to Dean. He loved him way too much. He was in love with him way too much.
Dean headed to the impala and got in the passenger side. Dean liked Castiel driving. He trusted him with his car. Dean knew Castiel was a smooth driver and he wouldn't get in any accidents. Dean played Dj as they drove the 1 minute back to the motel. Dean got out of the car and waited for Castiel to unlock the motel room.
Castiel swiped his keycard and entered the motel room. He quickly ran to the bathroom and urinated. He would never get used to the yellow liquid coming out of his ding a ling. He washed his hands and stripped down to his boxers and got into bed.
Dean followed Castiels actions and went to the bathroom and stripped to his boxers. It was 8:41 and Dean was exhausted.
"Dean, we are leaving after lunch time tomorrow. I have pizza rolls for lunch since we have a fridge/freezer and microwave." Castiel told Dean.
"Alright. I'll get plenty of sleep then. We aren't going on a hike or anything right?" Dean asked.
"No it's just a driving path but along the way there are look out points to see every angle. There are also a few historic buildings but i don't know if that's your thing."
"I'll just follow your lead."
"Okay, alarm is set for noon tomorrow and I'd like to leave by one."
"That works. Goodnight Cassy I'm in love with you so much. Forever and always."
"Goodnight Dean. I'm in love with you most. Forever and always."
Dean was asleep in Cassys arms before Cas even finished his sentence.(A/N)
Sorry if this chapter was a bit short but I have to be up early (early to me anyways) tomorrow because I have a behind the wheel (requirement for my license) at noon and I need to be up at 10:30 am and I normally get up around supper time so i need sleep. And I hope to post these along with the days in September. This was written on august 24th but will be uploaded on September 8th. Make sense? I hope so. Sorry I'm rambling. Thanks for reading.
