Castiel made sure he woke up hours before Dean. He needed to call lots of people if he wanted to get the wedding perfect. He had to call the priest, get a groomer for the cats who would be in the wedding, he had to get his and Deans tuxedo, Sams tuxedo, he needed a florist, and a cake. He would make the cake himself obviously because he didn't want to pay a shit ton of money for something he could make. Dean would love something homemade more than a store bought thing anyway. He would have Sam worry about the grooming of their cats and the tuxedo for himself. He didn't want Dean to know until he drove him there himself. He would just surprise Dean. Tell him they were going to a fancy restaurant perhaps. Then he'd already be dressed up. Then he'd take him to Oregon instead of a fancy place. Just a beautiful beach. He just wanted to be Deans husband for the short time until death do they part.
Dean awoke shortly after. Sam was stalling him in his room so Castiel could make his calls and arrange what needs to be arranged.
Castiel called a motel near the beach he planned to get married on. The devils punch bowl was in the middle of nowhere so it was a bit hard to find. But eventually he found a cheap one. He loved cheap motels. It was just a nice thing he appreciated. Some people would call the motels shitty and only homeless people stayed there for a night so they'd have a place for once. But Cas and Dean loved those shitty motels.
Dean eventually got out of bed. He wanted to have a lazy day. He was just gonna grab food and go to his room again. Keeping Ellie and Angel in the room too of course. Dean grabbed a cup of ramen and cooked it, sitting next to Castiel. Dean laid his head in Cassys lap. He was so tired. He just wanted to sleep forever and he knew that soon he would sleep forever. He didn't want this. He wanted to grow old with Castiel, have kids. But that would never happen now. It hurt him knowing all he'd gain in death was Castiel and Sam getting a shit ton of unnecessary sympathy. Dean was pulled out of his thoughts by the microwave telling him his ramen was done. Dean got up to go get it but then the floor seemed to raise to his face and everything went black.
Castiel picked Dean up and laid him on the couch. Castiel rushed to grab cold water to throw on Dean to wake him up. He knew fainting was a symptom of stage 4 cancer but he didn't know it would come this soon. He hoped Dean would at least last until his favorite holiday. He wanted Dean to make it to Halloween. Castiel had heard Dean speak of Halloween many times. He just hoped Dean would live to see their first and last one together. Castiel threw a cup of freezing water on Deans face. Castiel saw Deans eyes slowly open.
"Cassy?" Dean croaked out.
"Yeah Dean I'm right here. You're okay you just fell." Castiel replied in tears.
"I fell? But I was just at the Grand Canyon with you five seconds ago."
"Dean, that was 2 days ago.."
Castiel could see that Dean was dying. It would happen sooner than later. Castiel could see that Deans memories were getting all screwy. He would soon think his parents were alive still. Castiel didn't want this. He knew Dean didn't either. But it really sucked there was nothing anyone could do.
"What do you mean two days ago? It was like i was on a bench watching the sun set five minutes ago and now I'm at your house on a couch getting ice thrown in my face." Dean said tiredly.
"Dean it's just the cancer and your current mental health. It's all screwing with your head." Castiel told Dean sternly.
Dean played with his engagement ring. He wanted to marry Castiel now to make sure they were together before Dean died. Dean held his arm around Castiels neck as he let him carry him back to bed. Dean could see himself in the mirror from his bed. He could visibly see that he was looking worse. His face lost its color. He weighed about 85 pounds now. He couldn't keep anything in him for longer than five minutes. He threw up everything, including his own blood. Dean kept that part hidden from Cas. Dean could see that Cas was worried enough. Cas didn't need to know that Dean was throwing up blood almost daily.
Castiel brought the cats to the bedroom after letting them go to the bathroom. The litter box was in the master bathroom and they slept in the master bedroom. Castiel just wanted Dean to be able to sleep with the cats in his arms and not have them run away to go to the bathroom. Castiel was very excited for their wedding. He just hoped that Dean would be okay until then. At least okay enough to walk down the aisle.
Dean fell asleep very early but he didn't care. He couldn't stay awake anymore. It was only 6pm but it felt like 4am to him. He was only 20 but dying from lung cancer. He never even smoked. He just hoped that he would make it to heaven. He doubted it though seeing as how he was a bisexual man dating a gay man who also happened to be Gods son. Dude my life is weird. Was Deans closing thought as he drifted away into a dreamless sleep.
Castiel looked over at the sleeping Dean. Castiel grabbed Deans hand and held it as he stroked Deans tummy and back. Castiel loved Dean. If he had a soul, he'd sell it to save Dean. Castiel fell asleep holding Deans dying body in his arms.(A/N)
Jesus this chapter sucks. It's short and stupid but it exists soooo yup. Kinda hit a writers block tbh.
