Hello! I apologize that these are all theatre related, but as I've said before, I want to get stories with similar ideas out of the way before I change it up a bit. I might do different versions of this story, (With Seventeen, Dead Girl Walking Reprise, etc.) For now, enjoy the show!

A month ago, Connor had found out that he had gotten the role that he wanted in the school's production of Heathers. Surprise surprise, he was Jason Dean. His mom was happy for him, and as usual, Larry didn't give a shit. Zoe was Heather Macnamara, which was surprising but made sense at the same time.

He had called you as soon as he found out, and considering it was his first lead, he was ecstatic. When he found out that you were his Veronica, he was even happier! Not only were you his closest friend, so that would make more intimate scenes easier for the both of you, but you were a great singer, so he figured that this would be a piece of cake!

Oh boy, was he wrong.

Throughout the course of the show, he would notice himself stealing glances at you more during classes, and you occupied his thoughts day and night. He had been staring at his ceiling one night, when it hit him like a brick to the forehead. "Holy shit. I'm in love with Y/N." He had said, sighing in annoyance that he couldn't get you out of his head.

"Fucking Christ." He muttered the next morning, putting his head into his hands. Once again, you had been running through his mind all of last night. To the point where he had finally used that brown leather journal his mom got him for Christmas, writing about all the little aspects of you that he noticed, and a lot of things he probably would never say.

"Hey Connor," A familiar voice purred in his ear, pulling him from his thoughts and equally scaring the shit out of him at the same time. He jumped in his seat, turning his head quickly, looking at you. "Oh, um, hi Y/N," He said, trying to sound as casual as possible. He felt his face heat up as he was struggling to look you in the eye.

"Dammit Connor! Act natural!" His conscience scolded him. "What's up?" He asked. You smiled at him, making his heart do a gymnastics routine in his chest. You wore a black letterman jacket, a black skirt, and a white t-shirt. "I was going to ask you if you were looking forward to today's rehearsal."

He shrugged. "I mean, I actually like going to rehearsal, so sure." You laughed slightly. "So you have no idea what we're rehearsing today?" He raised an eyebrow. "Should I?" You shrugged. "Don't tell me you forgot." "Forgot what?" You sighed in annoyance. "We're rehearsing Dead Girl Walking  today, dipshit." Connor's eyes went wide, and he swore his heart stopped.

Shit.

He completely forgot they were rehearsing that  scene today.

In front of the entire cast.

"Fucking kill me." He muttered to himself. "What?" You asked, not hearing what he said. He shot his head up. "I thought we were rehearsing that next week?" He asked. "Well, it was a week ago when you asked me when we were rehearsing it, and I had said it was going to be next week, so it's next week now."

Dammit.

"It must've slipped my mind." He lied. You smiled, and the bell rang, signaling the end of the day. "Well, I gotta go, I'll see you in a bit." She said, walking away, not before winking at him. He waved meekly, and once she left, his mind was frantic. It was bad enough having a sex scene, but let alone with his best friend! Who also happened to be his crush!

"Fuck!" He said, crashing into someone. "Jeez, Hot Topic, what's got you in such a panic?" Of course he had to run into Jared at a time like this.

Of all people.

Connor shook out his head, he hadn't told anyone about his massive crush on you, there's no way he'd tell the walking meme. He'd just run his mouth and completely ruin any chance Connor had with you. "Um..." He had never felt more panicked and awkward in his entire life. Knowing the nosy little asshole, he'd find out eventually.

"I'm just a little... nervous, that's all." He finally said, not sure if he was lying, or if he just wasn't telling the whole truth.  "About the scene?" Jared asked. Connor swallowed his pride, and nodded. "Oh! The whole thing will go fine as long as you don't get a boner." "Jared!" He felt himself turning red again.

"Am I wrong? Or am I missing something?" He inquired, and Connor wasn't going to say anything. "It's not like you have a crush on Y/N or something. Then you'd be fucked, literally and figuritively." Jared laughed slightly, then when he saw the talle one's face, he immediately realized why he was so nervous.

"Don't tell me you actually have a crush on Y/N." Connor didn't say anything, but he got the point anyway. "Oh shit, you really are screwed." Connor sighed. "Listen to me very clearly Kleinman." He started, finally saying something. "If you tell anyone, and I mean anyone, about this little predicament I've gotten myself into, then I will personally strangle you to death."

He raised his eyebrows, looking down at the talking meme. "Got it?" Jared shrugged. "I mean, at least you'd offer to strangle me yourself, but I won't tell anybody." He waved his hand, silently asking the taller boy to lean down, which he did. "Besides, you're not the only one either." Connor was taken back for a moment. "Who, and how the hell do you know?"

Jared looked around quickly, making sure nobody was listening. "That quarterback, Will somethin' or other. He likes her too, I heard him talking to a few of his friends about her." Connor shook out his head. "Then what chance do I have?" Jared shrugged. "I mean, you've known her forever, and you're actually a half decent person, so I think you have a chance."

He instantly became worried. "I can't believe I'm asking you this, but what the hell am I going to do?" Jared rolled his eyes, starting to walk to rehearsal. "I would ask her out after rehearsal, and say you want to talk about physical boundaries for the song. It'll show you care about her wellbeing, and confess then."

"Come to think of it, that's not a horrible idea." "I know, right?" "Alright Kleinman, I gotta go, I need to make sure I'm not late." "Good luck Murphy!" Jared shouted as he ran off, a mix of panic and excitement running through his viens.
