"Hey, Y/N." You turned around to see the one and only, "Oh, hi Connor." A smile formed on your face. You didn't know Connor that well, but he sat next to you in your Honors English class, and you talked every once and a while if your head wasn't in a book. "So, what's up?" He shook his head out, almost as if he had been in a daze. If he was, you didn't know why.
"Oh yeah! Right, um, are you free tonight? Around 5:30?" You checked your phone's calander, and after you saw that you had nothing planned, you texted your mom quickly, and she said that she wouldn't be home until late, so you could do whatever you wanted as long as it wasn't fatal or illegal.
"Ya, I'm free. Why do you ask?" You saw a small smile come to Connor's face when you said this. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner tomorrow, then go see a musical at the local outdoor theatre? I don't remember what the theatre is called, but the show's called The Music Man, it's supposed to be really good."
You smiled, knowing that he had actually listened to you when you rambled on and on about theatre and how much you loved it. "Of course! Is anyone else going? I mean, I'm not saying I don't mind being alone with you, I mean- Oh shit that sounded wrong, I mean-" "Y/N, it's fine. I know what you meant." He had a gentle smile on his face, meanwhile you were bright red.
"And to answer your question, my parents have to go to some party at my aunt's house, and Zoe's over at Alana's house at four, and staying until tomorrow afternoon, so it's just going to be the two of us at the show tonight." You nodded. "So what time is the show?" "7:30pm." You were putting the details in your phone, when a thought came to your mind.
"Wait a minute." He turned around. "Are you asking me out?" He raised an eyebrow at you. "Ya." "No, I mean like, on a date." Connor's face turned a bit red. "Um, yeah. I mean, only if you want it to be. Like, romantic and shit." You laughed slightly at his flustered reaction. "I'm just messing with you." You struggled to word your next statement so that it wasn't too weird.
"I mean, I wouldn't mind going out with you- Oh shit that sounded really rude. I mean like, shit no that sounds even worse, um, dammit, you know what I mean." You felt your face turn red again, and you put your head in your hand. Now it was Connor's turn to laugh a little bit. "Relax, Y/N." He put a gentle hand on your shoulder.
"Don't worry, I've heard a lot worse from my own sister, and she didn't apologize for at least a week. At least you give a shit." A small smile came to your face, sighing. "Thanks." You went up on your toes, trying to reach a binder in the top of your locker. "Dammit." You couldn't reach it, when you saw a hand reach the binder, lingering on top of yours for a moment.
You looked up at him, and you stayed like that for a minute. "Here's your binder, by the way." His face was begining to turn red again as he handed you the binder, and you smiled. "Thanks." "No problem, I'll pick you up at five thirty at your place?" You had just realized that he probably didn't have your address. (It'd be a little weird if he did.)
"Sure, want me to send you my address?" Connor laughed slightly. "That would help." You laughed as you picked up the rest of your things, said goodbye, and headed to your first class of the morning.
The rest of your days seemed to fly by, and as soon as the two of you got home, you were immediately on the phone. (The reader's conversation is the first line, Connor's is on the second.)
"Hey Alana."
"Klienmeme, I need some help."
"Hi Y/N! What's up?"
"What did you do."
"I need your help with something."
