Just a quick note: Sorry that I've been inactive this last month or so. I've been very busy lately, and I may not write for a while after this entry, with the start of a musical I will be a part of. Thank you for the continuous support with this collection of one shots, and I hope you enjoy the story! (I basically got this idea ten minutes ago, so... ya.)

For your eighteenth birthday, your mom had decided to take you and Connor to New York City for the weekend to celebrate. It had been a long ride down there, but you were excited to see your uncle again. Your mom had included him in the celebration, since she wanted to give you and Connor some, "private time."
Your family hadn't always liked Connor, but your mom was always knew that he truly made you happy. They warmed up to him eventually, but your mom was your number one supporter. You and Connor talked just about the entire way down there, and he thought it was funny how you were able to drink an amount of caffeine that fit in a cup bigger than your head.
"You've known me for three years, this shouldn't be a surprise." It was common for you to get this type of commentary, but it was better than the whole, "that'll stunt your growth," type of crap you got most of the time from your peers. It was like a joke that everyone seemed to say, even though it wasn't funny.
"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't say stupid shit." Connor had always been one to make stupid jokes, although they weren't nearly as bad as Jared's. To the point that Connor slapped Jared upside the head because he made a really bad joke about your height difference. That time was one you wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon.
"Very fair, but this doesn't even have that much caffeine in it! It's light n' sweet, just the way I like it." You took a sip of your drink, noticing Connor giving you a grin. "What?" You asked, causing him to laugh a bit. "Nothing, it's just-" He burst into a fit of laughter. "What?!" You repeated, your voice getting a bit louder.
"Is that the only thing you like, "light n' sweet?" Connor got an innocent grin on his face, folding his hands under his chin. You raised an eyebrow at him, not getting the joke. He sighed, slightly annoyed that you didn't get his joke. "Me. Get it?" He said, rolling up his sleeve to reveal his pale arm.
Now getting the joke, it was your turn to get annoyed. "A, that was the worst joke I've ever heard." You put your pointer finger in the air. "B, are you sure you're this sweet?" You offered Connor your cup, only partly empty. He took the cup from you, and drank some of it, a satisfied look coming to his face.
"True." He handed the cup back to you. "Although it's not too bad." You took a sip of your coffee, then quickly returned to the conversation. "You are pretty sweet though, I will admit." Connor smiled, and you continued with your small talk. "How long until we get there?" He asked you. You shrugged, telling him it would be about two hours more.
"Ugh." He dragged out, attempting to stretch out his legs, hitting you instead. "Dammit, you tall ass." Connor laughed at the remark. "Tall ass? I don't think I've heard that one." You narrowed your eyes at him. "Well now you have." You pouted a bit, reminding Connor of a little kid. He laughed at the expression, causing you to get even more pissed off.
"You're cute when you're mad."
"Listen, I may be five foot three but that doesn't mean I can't beat your ass."
"I don't doubt that, but can't I call my girlfriend cute every once in a while?"
You pursed your lips, knowing fully well that Connor did this all the time to you.
"Asshole."
"Love you too."
When you finally got to the city, it was a relief to be able to stretch your legs out again. After a bit of cursing, you were able to move your legs comfortably. Your uncle met the three of you where you got off the bus, hugging you tightly. After giving you the standard, "How are you? How's school going? Anything happen recently?" He made small talk with your mom.
"It's great to be back here." You said to Connor, following your mom and uncle down the busy street. "Ya, especially when its your birthday!" A big smile appeared on his face, causing you to giggle. "My birthday isn't until tomorrow, dummy." He rolled his eyes, his smile still there. "That doesn't mean we can't celebrate."
"Connor's got a point there." Your mom commented ahead of you. "We're going to an Italian place tonight to celebrate before the festivities tomorrow." You shrugged in response. Your mom hadn't told you too much about what you were doing for your actual birthday, but you knew it would be fun nonetheless.
Once you got to the hotel, your mom had taken the luxury of getting you and Connor your own room. "I'll be right next door if you need anything, and don't do anything stupid, alright?" Laughing slightly, you nodded. "What time is dinner again?" You asked. "Seven, but we're meeting in the lobby at six."
"Alright, thanks mom." Parting ways, Connor closed the door behind the two of you. "Well, we've got some time to kill." You thought out loud, beginning to unpack. "That is true." Connor replied, a hint of devilishness in his tone. "Before you say it, we still have to unpack, remember?" He huffed, mumbling under his breath.
"Relax, we'll have plenty of time for whatever you have planned later, alright?" A small grin playing on his lips, Connor rolled his eyes. "Fine." He dragged out the word, something a small child might do. "Just be glad my mother didn't make me stay with her for this trip." You muttered, your tone flat.
"True."
A few hours later, the four of you were at the restaurant, the waiter already had taken your order. You had on an olive green sweater, your hair simply brushed out, not much else done to your appearance. Your mom was telling an embarrassing story from when you were younger, your face turning red.
It was all in good fun, and you were glad to get your order before your head exploded from embarrassment. "You'll always be my baby, even though you're eighteen." Your mom said, a gentle smile on her face. "Thanks mom." The food ended up being some of the best you'd had in the city, and it was great to be with your family, but you were glad to get back to the hotel.
Connor was in the bathroom at the time, so you stepped through the sliding glass door, and onto the balcony. It was a gorgeous view of the city, with all the buildings lit up. The best part was that it was so late, you could see the moon in full view. You stood there for a while, taking in the cool night air.
Without a word, two lean arms snaked around your waist. You looked up, and saw Connor look down at you. Going back to the view, you leaned into your significant other, glad that you could share the night with someone you loved. "Since we don't have to do too much until tomorrow afternoon, how do you want to spend the morning?" Connor asked.
"I'm not sure if I'll be awake before noon." You said with a laugh, yawning soon after. "That's alright, I know we'll find something to do." A tired smile tugged at your lips, being glad that Connor was there to spend your birthday with you. Turning your head to look up at your boyfriend, he planted a quick kiss to your lips.
"I love you." You said, your voice quiet because of how tired you were.
"Love you too, Princess."
